It's 20 feet - this is more of a ceiling joist than a beam as it does not have any vertical load - here's a video of a structural beam that's supported a ridge beam: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rX_ZeZKEf52meZY

@@TheLittleHouse thats nice, im planning to build a 20 x 23 feet (6x7m) bungalow house, using 6x6 inch wood post..it seems that my idea of not putting a column in the middle is feasible..

LVL's are pretty handy for long spans as you can set the individual ply's and screw them together in place: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oKDKk3l6itOIj8k

@@TheLittleHouse this means a lot for me, such a great help..im planning to make a flat roof..front post 10' high, rear post 12' high..20feet trusses distance..from left to right 1meter or 1.2meters..is this feasible for a long span?

@@TheLittleHouse im from the philippines, im gonna use gmelina tree as a post..8pcs 6x6 post..3meters distancen post to post from side to side..then 3.5meters distance from post to post in the front same goes in the rear.

Are you not concerned at all with creep, using the titebond instead of poly construction adhesive? I’m in the process of making a secondary support beam myself and have been told not to use Titebond III because of creep. 🤷🏻♂️

@@gary24752 3x is the strongest Lumber to Lumber adhesive that I've known and I've used them all. It will not let go the lumber will rip before it let's go
