A quick tip from one artist to another...If you take to long to use that resin, use a coffee cup warmer on low to keep it from getting to thick to use...Get a hand cloth lay it on the coffee warmer, then place your cup of resin on it...It will keep your resin workable until you finish your project...Happy crafting.

The dominos don't demold flat. I use the same mold and have tried many diffrent resins. And sanding makes it so hard to bring back to a nice perfect flat surface

Hi, I just started doing my first set of dominoes. (beginner) I filled the mold to the top and next day I removed dominoes from mold.. looks nice but I noticed that in center of the dominoes, the resin looks sunken. maybe wasn’t really full to borderline as I did? Does this suppose to happen?
@BearWoodsSupplyCompany2 жыл бұрын
Hey! Thanks so much for watching our video - we hope you learned a lot. We think your problem might be related to air bubbles in your resin. It sounds like after the resin had finally degassed, there wasn't quite enough resin in the mold to fill it all the way up. Mixing slowly and lightly spraying 91-99% isopropyl alcohol over your finished piece will help reduce air and avoid this issue, leaving you with a complete domino. We hope this helps!

Do you need hardener too?

I use same molds and the never cure flat. When I sand they never become shiny again. I've seen people seal them with clear spray but every time ive ever done it like that they stick after, no matter how long I let dry. The way everyone does them doesn't work for me. Ice worked with resin for a wile. I don't get it.

If you end up sanding something ever you'll end up wanting to buff it afterwards with flitz polish and a polish cloth or you can always get a cordless orbital sander with buffing pads (this Is a way I found to polish my stuff I'm just helping) or you can try and find a clear spray(I usually just polish so don't know much about spray)

How long to you wait between colors?
@jenniferjasso59472 жыл бұрын
I wait until the first layer is completely cured. The heat the top layer gives off while curing can mess up the bottom layer if the bottom layer is not completely cured.

Where did you buy this metallic pen?
@BearWoodsSupplyCompany2 жыл бұрын
Hello! We hope that you enjoyed the content and thank you for your question. In terms of Metallic Paint Pens, the best place to source these is typically a local Craft Supply Store. Some examples being Michaels, JoAnnes, or Blick but it's best to check in your area. Hopefully this helped.

Can you add spinner divot on these dominoes?
@BearWoodsSupplyCompany2 жыл бұрын
The beauty of resin is having the ability to put whatever you want in the mold. If that's something you'd like to do we suggest doing a thin layer as your first pour, being sure to add your spinner when the resin has set up a fair bit to hold it into place. You'd then finish your dominoes as normal. We haven't don't this project ourselves so would appreciate hearing if you find a better way! If you'd prefer to add them after the pouring process then we're sure you could drill a small hole to place a glued spinner in each domino. Happy Pouring.

I made my 1st set and two of them look cracked is there a way to fix this and will they break
@BearWoodsSupplyCompany2 жыл бұрын
Hi there, It sounds like there might have been some inconsistencies during the curing process. We always recommend having the area you're doing resin in be held at a consistent temperature during the curing process. The cracking could be indicative of the resin flash curing and pulling away, causing cracks. Mixing your resin thoroughly to ensure there are no unmixed parts will also help avoid these types of issues.

Hi how did you smooth your edges after de-molding?
@BearWoodsSupplyCompany2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching our video! In order to remove the roughness of the edges after the de-molding process, Tiffani uses a combination of the Marathon Rotary Tool with some sanding bits as well as some high-grit sanding paper. We sell Marathon Rotary Tools at Bear Woods, here's a link below if you're interested. www.bearwood.com/rotary

isnt the rule that the much u put color the work will be weaker ??
@coolgirlrules7022 жыл бұрын
Depends on what kind of dye you use. Water and oil based food coloring dyes won't allow the resin to cure correctly and should not be used. Powered dyes usually work fine though.
