It's nice that such an episode was uploaded to the channel, because tomorrow I'm going to change my entire leather wardrobe, and there is quite a bit of it, to a Mad Max style because I have dedicated my life to the post-apocalypse and I will seriously wear it this way throughout my life. Wish me luck!

Distressing leather is easy. First you remind it that it is late filing it's taxes, and then, just before bed, you inform it that it's leather-in-laws is staying over this weekend. Guaranteed to distress anything.

A really good method to accomplish this. May wariness about the process is with the alcohol. Alcohol embrittles veg-tan tan leather, so it is important to re-hydrate it to make it last longer. You can accomplish the same effects using just a light coat of water (surface wet is ideal) and then stressing it. Suggestion on the wax part would be instead of wax( which will make the leather slightly water repellent) use a leather conditioner. I saw this for two reasons: 1. you accomplish the same effect as well as water repellency and wont waste any wax, and 2. It will rehydrate your leather a bit if you go the alcohol rout. A cool little addendum you can do to add to the lower part for the wear and tear appearance is to use any assortment of punches randomly placed near the bottom and the edges. punch about 3/4 to almost through and then just lightly pull the scrap off. Just be sure to hit the exposed fibers with resolene or a sealer so it does lead to actual damage to the leather when wearing. I love these leather videos man, gives me great ideas for things to do after I get some revenue in. Keep going Bro!

You can also apply candle wax and rub vigorously with a felt pad. Best results I've seen. Combine that with neatsfoot or antiquing finish and you'll get some uneven wearing which is perfect.

I age a lot of my leather projects by throwing them in the backseat of my Jeep. Damn, place is like a timewarp. I leave them back there for about a month and they come out looking 100 years old with all kinds of "nice" wear and tear.

Why not use water instead of alcohol?? Isn't it the same at drying up the leather.

Or even better. Lay the leather in a stone outside upp. Take a smaller hand sized rock and drag over it at different direktions. For best effekt dampen the leather first. Try it on a scrap first.
