We can simplify all power sources, except solar, into spinning a thing. They either spin the thing directly via air/water movement or they spin the thing by boiling water and having the steam spin it.

fusion reactors are physically incapable of melting down. If you get a runaway reaction it burns out in microseconds and it just turns off

as a little tip, remember thermal machines have auto-input, just put it right above the depot and set the bottom to pull

Fun Fact! Did you know there's an exploit with fusion reactors? Power isn't the only thing fusion reactors can produce. They also produce steam, which can make power in a turbine. This is reasonably more efficient than a passive cooled reactor, for the cost of some more reactor heat. Just add water! Do you know what else you can add? D-T fuel! While the reactor has an internal limit of 98 fuel per tick, this doesn't stop an additional chemical reactor being used to pipe it in directly! Now, onto the exploit!!! You know what else a fusion reactor produces? If you look at the numbers you're working with, then some of them, specifically heat, seem much higher than other machines in the mod. Mekanism allows you to extract that! It also has a multi block boiler dedicated to producing steam! Now is the ratio between heat and steam the same between these 2? *ABSOLUTELY NOT!* You will quickly realize that Mekanism thermal cables aren't all too capable of transporting these numbers of heat. Solution? Stick the boiler against the reactor directly! In fact, do 4! (Due note that 4 max 18^3 size boilers can cool a reactor below ignition temperature below fuel rates of 10) The main problems with this setup is that you need an unreasonable amount of water, so many 18x17^2 steam turbines (make them with 28 blades for maximum steam to power efficiency, but you'll need to build some more of them), and power storage (your mostly there!). After all that, you are now only bottlenecked by the number of sides/small size of a single reactor.

Hey dejojo you know that you can right click on the mekanism cables to upgrade them, right click with advanced alloy to upgrade basic… Much easer than ripping it down then rebuilding

it can be very inefficient. if you're not converting exactly 8 cables, it's better to mine them up first so you're not wasting resources. unless you're at the stage where you're not worried about it; like in a skyblock where you can easily generate thousands of these resources per day.

Use turbines and boilers connected to the reactor with thermodynamic conductors. Turbines should be 17x17x18, with 10 high shaft, (4 of them), and boilers should be 11×13×7 (4 of em). Should produce 1.07 GFE/t at max power, even with an injection rate as low as 4.

Instead of bumping injection rate up, you can pump water in. The reactor itself will produce half energy but also A LOT of steam

Just a Little tip from me, you can just right click the pipes/cables with the next tier of alloy (ultimate,reinforced,etc.) to upgrade them so no need for replacement.

I honestly love this modpack, I knew the creator of it when he allowed use on my friends modded smp during the beta testing session, and that server is actually where he got the texture designer from which used to be one of my good friends. Anyway great modpack, I honestly miss grinding my ass of to finish a hard modpack in 1 - 2 weeks.

also you can redirect heat out of the fusion reactor using thermodynamic conductor cables and use that to kickstart another fusion reactor without the laser and you can use it to supercharge those thermo evaporation plants

You can buff the power generation of your reactor by injecting D-T Fuel directly, but it consumes it way faster.

For the best results, you can use the heat of the reactor to heat up a boiler (this works!) and send that steam through a turbine. You can also heat the water by pumping it into the fusion reactor as well, but I found that to be a bit less efficient.

you know you can right click on the pipes of mekanism with alloy thats better than the pipe and it'll automatically upgrade up to 8 pieces at once. Continue right clicking with the allow and it'll keep upgrading along the network of pipes until all the pipes are upgraded or you run out of alloy

5:33 I mean, technically, a theoretical IRL fusion reactor wouldnt explode/go supercritical like a fission reactor. Even if the Torus of the reactor was punctured, you wouldnt get much of an explosion, and any Plasma inside the reactor would almost immediately cool to gas.

I built a Fusion Reactor and SPS on a friend's server, and when i saw my nuclear reactor wasnt making enough waste i made it 10x10x10 and now it makes more energy than my fusion reactor so im thinking about water cooling it to see if that make it any better, and tbh the nuclear reactor makes more energy than I can even use anyways so i definitely didnt need the fusion reactor

You can click with a higher tier alloy on mekanism cables to upgrade 8 at a time easily(at least you could on 1.12.2 im too old for this) Also for the strength potion mess thermal once had an oreDict converter

3:10 btw u can rightclick cables with the better tier alloy to upgrade up to 8 of the cables and u can even spamm klick the alloys on the alrddy upgraded cables to convert more that are connected but arent upgraded yet

if you make d-t fuel separately, you can input it at a quicker rate and get quite a high output of FE/t. i think i got 400MFE/t from the reactor and another 50MFE/t from steam with the water cooling and a couple of turbines. it depends on the through put of the pipes though.

In the create settings there is smth called “movable spawners” which you can turn on and move like a blaze spawner in the neither with a cart contraction thing (I saw this is another video) now you have a way to move a blaze spawner :3

Lil tip, use regular DT-Fuel instead and use speed upgrades within the chemical infuser to throttle the ussage of Tritium and Deuterium. Always ensure you have a tritium overproduction. Using DT-Fuel generates more power than regular Tritium and Deuterium reactors.

I remember building a nuclear reactor for server we were playing as 10 + friends and I was like hey this mechanism mod looks cool And I love challanges so I took on the quest to build a powerplant and oh boy I remember making this fusion reactor I was running it on 100 mb/tick and I made an elite tier power storage (I still used fission reactor because I wanted the fully upgraded mecha armor and tool that made me basically a god .)and Building a powerline to everywhere which I used the ultimate cables for my base it took about 4 stacks because I wanted my base to be far away from reactors since fission ones can blow up if chunk loaders fuck up and it did happen a few times even tho no one realised it because I just fixed it and the elite power storage literally lasts long enaugh for everyone for basically eternity because I was the only one who spends much much more energy and for the rest of them I used more than 2 db chest of elite cable yes I dont have a diamond problem and for thoose who dont know using diamond plates instead of diamonds is more effective tbh its 8x better or something if I recall correctly and yes it works for any resource obs , redstone , carbon etc.

I saw you were trying to get redstone and a easy way to do so is by crushing one redstone to make 4 red dye and taking the red dye and making 4 redstone since you can make red dye into redstone so you are basically making infinite redstone by putting 1 redstone in and out comes 4 redstone.
