I rarely comment on your videos , but i have to say something . I'm 61 and a builder for 43 years , so i know a thing or two about organization and creative delivery . I thoroughly enjoy ALL of your videos . You are a talented host and mechanic , and you could easily have a network t.v.show. But i know you are smart enough to know that you would lose total creative control if you were ever to do that. At your age (just under 21 i believe ) you are talented beyond your years . You are extremely likeable and well grounded, and i am sure your parents are very proud. They should be equally proud of themselves as we are all a product of our environment. Keep doing EXACTLY what you do, EXACTLY the way you are doing it. And to be happy always , focus NOT on the accomplishments from your efforts , but on the LEARNING harvested from those efforts . By focusing on the learning and not the glory , our spirit will always be stronger than our ego . This is what keeps us grounded . P.S. your buddies , including your cousin , are pretty cool too .

Those adjuster bolts with nut are sold at any auto parts store in the Dorman/MotorMite HELP section. Just ask the person at the counter and show them the bracket you took out without the bolt and nut. Better yet, take a picture of what it's supposed to look like and they can match it up. I deliver parts for O'Reilly's and have delivered those adjuster bolts a few times. ;)

Gotta love California, i'm in the central Valley and my truck which is blue is now white because of all the ash. The creek fire which is burning in Fresno county is causing a lot of problems up here. It is however keeping the temperature down tho. We did lose our cabin, and are probably going to lose our favorite ski resort.

My father passed and left me his f100, it runs but it is rough. We painted it camouflage together when he was still alive. He was adamant when he wrote out the bill of sale to me, don't let it get crushed. I have people offer to buy, kinfolk offer to buy it. That truck, is all I got left of him, we never had amazing father son relationship, but that truck, I wouldn't take a million for it. I have tried a while to get literally anyone to help me work on that truck. Nobody would help. I'm not a mechanic, none of my folks ever took the time to teach me. Well I can say your video has been much help to me. Many thanks, and nice truck!

Oh it's easy. I learned about the mod almost 20 years ago on FourEyedPride. The wiring is old and thin on old cars. It saves the wires and keeps the switch from burning out. Make sure you run larger guage wire, I think I ran 10ga when I did it. Might as well replace the sockets too. It's like the big three upgrade, real good to do.

I like them both. the halos look uber cool but then again the amber stockers look very nice at dusk as well. I think the LEDs are probably more practical, the light is much cooler which would be better for viability.

the headlight adjusting screw, can be found in the help aisle at auto store
@ItsDaJax4 жыл бұрын
That's pretty conventional for headlight setups. And too add also; not only old wiring, but thin wiring. I had a 77 k10 that would burn out headlights because the wires to the hibeam switch in the floor would get too hot when the lights were on. Current travels on top of the individual strands of wires, not through them. Electrical resistance makes heat. The relay mod is awesome, taking power directly from the battery, leaving the switch... to just be a damn switch. When I did my 08 CVPI; I got a tiny fuse box to fuse the relays from the battery, and had two relays per light.

I installed this same harness in my 69 F250. Solved the flicker issue I was having. I’ve had this kit installed for about 5 years with no issues. Since I’ve installed LEDs with Halos and have the low beams, bights and halos, all running off of separate relays. Seems to work well. Also , This is a great read for anyone wanting to do something similar and having dim/flicker issues. . Great video Craig! www.ford-trucks.com/articles/whiter-whites-brighter-brights/

I would have taken voltage measurements BEFORE and AFTER right at the bulbs and at the battery just to see what the voltage differences really are. I suppose that a similar system could be retrofitted into most any older vehicle. That harness was not necessary. Just install the lighting relays at each bulb and trigger the relays from the OEM HARNESS connections. Just need a FUSED 10 gauge wire right from the battery feeding each relay. This is what they do on new cars.

I love the LEDs like I have on my 67 Mustang but the only downside to that is if you do any kind of winter driving with snow the LEDs don't get hot like the halogens do and snow won't melt like they would with the halogens. I had to stop twice on my way home this past winter on my way home from work to clear the snow off of my headlights and when I got home they were covered again
@ScoobyDigites4 жыл бұрын
There was a company that made headlights with a heating feature to them where if it dropped below a certain temp the sensor would detect that and and heat the lens so snow and ice wouldn't build up. I think it was jw speaker or something. Check the Headlight revolution channel on here I was looking at a pair for my square body because I was having the same issue. Only reason I didn't follow through is because I got a beater with halogens for the winter.

4:10 The plastic (or vinyl) tubing that your new wiring harness is in looks pretty jankey, and out of place, especially in an older vehicle. There is a very easy cure for this, and it only costs a few dollars. Go to a sporting goods store, and get some hockey tape...........the stuff the players wrap the blades of their sticks with. It has the right look and the right texture as the original wire wrap the car/truck had when it was brand new. All you have to do is wrap it around the wires, and you're done. I think the LED headlights look better.

Around here, these lights piss people off. A guy got so aggravated at the guy behind him, he was blinding him from behind. He stopped his car right in the road, He got out, picked up a rock, and busted out the same exact type of lights shown in this video. He pitched away the rock, got back in his car, and drove off. Leaving the guy behind him with no lights. To a lot of people, these things are too bright. Even on dim. They are blinded in there mirrors so badly that they can't see in front of them. If a dear jumps out in front of you, that's tough if you can't see it. The guy that busted out the other headlights, he paid a fine and paid to have new headlights put back in the other guy's car. But, they went back with Halogen originals. I guess the guy didn't want that to happen to him again. The guy said himself that others had complained about his lights being too bright. But he just dismissed them. He wound up figuring things out the hard way.
