It was a simple set, but the ending shots of Percy running looked phenomenal. Excellent work!

Oh fantastic! I’d highly recommend it!! It does look a bit darker than it does on my camera but it’s lovely. Feels closer to S5! Best of luck with your Percy!

Amazing finish on the paint job! Do you use an airbrush, or just a spray can?
@TheTrainModeller4 ай бұрын
I usually just use spray paints! Still learning the ways of the airbrush!!
@1471SirFrederickBanbury4 ай бұрын
the most important thing to getting a good finish is to ensure the surface *under* the paint is perfectly smooth, then apply thin layers of paint, then a good amount of varnish. It also help if your paint has a lot of solvent, and isnt an acrylic.

Great job once again! Im starting to feel better that my go to building material is brass now, as seeing everyone fill and sand and prime a billion times is hilarious because its happening to everyone else but not me (I dont even really need to prime, as old Humbrol gloss black goes on brass better than any etching primer)! A couple tips and ideas, Since NWR Green looks closest to LNER Apple Green, I wonder how Percy and Henry would look in Phoenix Precision Doncaster green, diluted 50/50 with gloss varnish, sprayed over medium neutral grey, with some nice amber enamel varnish (3 coats) on top, I really thing that'll look great! You should try drilling out the 3d printed buffer stocks and use Gibson, or MJT buffer heads, as they look so much better and are well sprung (the springs arent too strong). Try Gibson coupling rods and some proper fluted connecting rods, as they look 1000x times better than the Bachmann ones. The frames (chassis) on real locomotives taper up to meet the buffer beam, and making the bachmann chassis blend into the running board like say, a Hornby Peckett would vastly improve the looks. Lastly, Masokits screw link couplings (or even much better, Exactoscale if you can find them) are far better than Hornby's, which are diesel types, with a funny top shackle that makes the whole thing stiff. Great job anyways, as I've really procrastinated on my Percy, so I dont have too much to show!

Is it just me or is it that Bachman Percy’s cylenders are always loose when you first get him out of box … I have had 2 and have super glued them down to stay still . Then for a face update a take n play Percy with card behind to make it fit .
