Thanks for sharing this tutorial. I just made one of the candies. I didn't have Fimo Professional. I used the Fimo Soft. The Fimo soft works fine, as long as you put it in the refrigerator for 20 minutes before you make your slices. I also used a baby wipe to remove some of the red color from the white area as I was shaping. It removes the red color off the white nicely.

@polinacreations77294 жыл бұрын
Hi, clay could be crumbly if it is underbaked. I have a video here on my channel about baking polymer clay (it is called "Baking Polymer clay" kzbin.info/www/bejne/jYPPg6mJhbOees0 ). I performed experiments: undertaking and over baking polymer clay, please take a look. I hope it will help with your issue. 🙂

Hi! Do you bake your canes before slicing or after? Thanks in advance!
@polinacreations77295 жыл бұрын
Hi, most of the time I bake before slicing, but in some cases I slice raw (in this case I put cane in a ziplock bag and place it in a freezer for 20-30min) and slice it immediately after pulling it out from the freezer, this method helps from squishing the cane. Thanks :o)

@@polinacreations7729 absolutely incredible tutorial!!! Thank you!!! I tried it today and was amazed. Can't say mine even came close to yours but with some practice who knows. I want to make some for embellishments on my cards. How long do you bake the thinner rolled ones? Putting them in the freezer helped considerably but would like to try the baking and then cutting. I wasn't really sure how to tell they were fully baked and done. Thanks for any advice!

@@maureenthomas5445 Thank you!💕 I'm happy my video was helpful! Please believe me, with practice you will get much-much better! 😉 I bake them for 10-15 min. If you cut the baked canes, and it is crumbling - the clay was not baked enough; or at a low temperature. I have a video about baking polymer clay: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jYPPg6mJhbOees0 Please take a look. I hope it will help you to figure out with baking time and temperature! 🙂🌷

These are so sweet. I have a big collection of bricks of clay, sadly I have found that the odor from baking gives me a horrible migraine. I have no where available to bake them outside or I would try that. Is there any other means of curing the polymer clays besides baking? I would so love any advice.
@Sydneyblue1013 жыл бұрын
Try freezing them! You might be able to get an extension cord and a microwave oven to be able to set the clay outside. Or in a different, well ventilated room.
@Sydneyblue1013 жыл бұрын
What about using a heat gun? You can cure them in small increments. That way when the smell starts to overwhelm you, you can stop and take a break!

Sorry for the late reply! Oh I feel your pain...😟 If baking with open windows doesn't work for you, try this way: put your item in it in a glass baking pan (with cardboard on the bottom if needed), and put that pan with the item in a baking bag. Tie it tightly. Bake. Open the baking bag on your balcony or any ventilated area. Here is a video showing this method: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z4bcnIqobq5pZ9E Please take a look😉🌷 I hope this will help you!

@polinacreations77292 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late reply! If you are talking about keeping clean cutting the canes without color mixing, I put the canes in a freezer for 15-30 min before slicing. If I need to cut large canes, I wet the blade - the confectioners use this method for clean cutting cheesecakes 😉👌🏻
