Bought one last week from John Lewis the ascent 3500. They price matched it with a shop called art of living which was £50 off .

This is a person who recorded a demonstration they won't doing em themselves but with this machine you just put em and throw them in maybe add something else for a better texture and I'd blend for around 1:00 or one minute if you add something make sure you put some water or vegan cream if you would like a thick creamy texture it's all to preferences what are you after mate just ask me or tell me ain't fussed either way il help you I'm also a qualified chef

You can just pit them and put them in with whatever you're blending in your Vitamix. However, there used to be a lady named Jane something-or-other who had videos here on KZbin. She soaked her pitted dates in fresh coconut water and called it "Nectar of the Gods." I'm a lot less anal than that; I soak mine in commercial (unsweetened) coconut water. I keep it in the fridge and just add a glop of it to taste when I make a smoothie. It blends up perfectly, keeps a LONG time under refrigeration, and is a healthful sweetener.
