Great job dad. That looks really cool to do. And u do it safely and cautious and fishing season is getting really big right now extremely ocean fishing. I really like the back in the day story it really explains what to wear and survive with what u have to accomplish the project.

I used these with the Team Catfish weight slides to make a kzbin.infoUgkxdmsDj7fQXe77DC0l7P7ua8B3PiESUubM Carolina rig and they were perfect for the ponds I fish. I have also used them to make 3 way rigs and these work perfectly. Haven't had any issues with them snagging in rocks or in weeds yet.

When I was a kid I used to see those sinker molds in the fishing stores and always wanted to try making sinkers but never did......I have some lead, If I ever see a mold cheap at a garage sale or something I'm gonna grab it.

I’m sure you know this but if you either take a torch to warm it or set the mold on top of the pot while it’s heating up will give you better pours.

Smear a very thin layer of anti-seize on that blade to remove the split shots easier. If you think is messy then sprinkle talcum on the blade. Same results. Good job overall.

Hi Wire, sinker prices in florida are pretty high also. The bass fishing guys buy tungsten worm weights, they run $12-$15 each.....crazy. cheers

Yes, I'm making more $$$ on sinkers than what I do on the rest of the fishing gear.

Molds work great. There's a knack to it. You have a o get the mold hot first to get a good cast. It was easy for me because back in the early 70 s I was a linotype operator. My printing background helped with casting lead. You have to be real careful. A lead burn is very very painful.

Your main concern is gonna be moisture DO NOT let your sweat or any water drip into your pot…. Won’t be a good time

Where can you buy a furnace? What is the name of the product you searched for? I can't find a furnace like yours. Can you tell me the brand of your furnace? Thank you, dear friend.
