This is how I make steamed pork buns - it's not an authentic recipe, but it turns out just the way I like them.

I dont usually have motivation to get up and live life. I rarely cook, I often think about how simple life would be when over. I say this becuase you should know, your videos help calm me down. Your videos make me want to get up and cook, and in a weird way make me feel like its simply finding the fun in everyday activities that make life more than just day to day grinding. Thank you, for everything so far.

I think Shrimp's videos really give me that spark too. Regardless of what project he's working on, it reminds me that I can do this too. Even if I'm tired after work, I can make biscuits or start seeds growing or make jam, and it's those kinds of projects that give me some peace and revive me.

Hey, AS! I'm going to make these next week. Would you mind terribly writing the recipes down and putting them in the description or a link or something? It's very helpful for people who want to make the recipe at home. Edit: I decided to just write it here for anyone that can use it. Hope it helps! For the dough: 450g (3 cups) of white flour 1 packet of yeast 2 tsp of sugar 1 tbsp of vegetable oil 1/2 tsp of salt 350ml (1 and 2/5 cups) of lukewarm water For the filling: 3 tbsp of hoisin sauce 2 tbsp of apricot jam 2 tbsp of damson jam add soy sauce/vinegar to taste PS: I also share your aversion to pull tabs! I totally get it! I never considered that I could just open the pull tab cans with a can opener, but that's exactly what I plan to do from now on! Thanks!

maybe the pork in this recipe could be replaced with some sort of beans? It would be hard to make sure that they're both properly cooked and not too mushy, but I think that would be a fun experiment.

"so you call them steamed despite the fact that they're obviously grilled."
@davidw15183 жыл бұрын
Arguably they were baked (although, with the water producing steam in the oven, "steamed" does seem more appropriate), but no grill was involved, they were definitely not grilled.

@AtomicShrimp2 жыл бұрын
Strong flour is bread flour. Higher in gluten
@applegal30582 жыл бұрын
if you're from Canada, you can probably just use all purpose flour. Our wheat is harder than other countries. At least that's what I've read. I've used hard or strong flour once, and was disappointed, so went back to good old all purpose. That's all I've ever used to make bread.
