The last time I had a Whataburger I was visiting my brother in O.K.C. back in 2018. I love Whataburger. Now I can make them here in NorCal! Thanks Bill!

I love these history tales. And of course, seeing a nice burger being made is always a good thing!

I'm a truck driver who lives in Ohio. I've had whataburger and I miss it so much. Every time I was in Texas, I made sure to get it. I'll gladly trade you a couple white castles for a whataburger.

"If you don't like it that's pretty much your fault" lol nice. I loved these burgers in the 80's and 90's, haven't been in a long time. A Whataburger with mayo and a stack of jalapenos is how I ate em. Great vid man!

I haven't heard of Whataburger before in the SF Valley, but it looks simple enough to make. Will have to try it.

It was the late 70's to early 80's when it was there. They got out of cali shortly after that.

Good vid. I just had my first Whataburger recently, they are in Colorado now. Did I miss it or do you not season the burger? Cheers.

Sorry, I think I may have over edited. Salt and pepper on the patties as they cook.

Like the history minutes, it's a nice addition. Living in Minnesota, I've never tried a Whataburger (or In & Out burger either). I've heard a ton about them over the years, from other restaurant equipment people from other parts of the country, but never tried one. If I ever do, I hope that it lives up to the hype better than Sonic did, when they finally began expanding into Minnesota. That was a great disappointment.

Sonic is terrible! In n Out is the best, period! Whataburger tastes a lot like a whopper with mustard on it. You customize it to your hearts content and that is where the magic happens. The history parts are fun to do but nerve-racking. Trying to squeeze all that in a minute or two is tricky. 5 seconds to tell each tidbit is not a lot of time.

I've heard about Whataburger for 20 years or so. Never tried them because they are not here in the Northland. I do question your 53 seconds cook time for each side though. I will say though, lately I have been cooking burgers at home. Using freshly ground 80/20 beef. Mold into patties about 1/2 inch thick Need to trust your meat source. Cook on cast iron griddle for 4 minutes per side. Add toppings of choice and no burger can be better.

These burgers are 1/4 inch thick and the griddle is HOT. Like 450f and up. That gets you that great crust that tastes soo good! I timed it, I have cameras rolling you know. 63 seconds was perfect mid well and a nice crust

Looks a great burger and I like the idea of, what was it, 900 combinations. BK in this country have long gone with the marketing slogan of "have it your way", for their Whopper, but from what I've seen the Whopper does look better than Whataburger...especially as you put ketchup on it...sacrilege! But, lets be honest the Whopper is a 9/10 and 10/10 if you go double with cheese!.

Whataburger is about a culture as much as anything. The base burger is just a starting point. All those options make it perfect... BK talks a big game but it's really just a few options.

I've never eaten a Whataburger; I have met one of their employees (who shall remain anonymous) who conceded that In-N-Out has better burgers, but Whataburger has better fries.

In n out is better than everyone! Whataburger falls between a McDonald's hamburger and a whopper. Good basic burger but nothing fancy in its standard form. Add jalapeños and grilled onions and its a different story!

I once bought 2 Jack in the box tacos for a dollar and felt like I was duped...they were a greasy disgusting train wreck that my dog wouldn't eat..

That is how the JitB tacos are supposed to taste. Like delicious greasy train wrecks. Oddly enough,, they are based on real authentic mexican tacos from Tijuana back in the 1950's. Taco Dorados are still made that same way today. It's the Taco Bell taco that would get you laughed at in Mexico, believe it or not. Again, if you weren't raised on them there is no way to tolerate them as an adult. I get it.

100% BUT, it's a fast food burger. What juice is left to make the bun soggy? Just sayin'
