I think his death was overall executed very well in Batman v Superman, but it doesn’t change the fact that it’s so strange for the event to happen so soon in the first place, but then again, when you force a director to cram as much as he possibly can into one movie, that’s gonna happen. It’s like WB didn’t learn from when Sony tried to do that to Marc Webb with TASM2 just two years prior.

the biggest problem is that if Marvel had access to all of it's characters, they never would have started with the avengers, the main trinity would have been spiderman, the hulk and wolverine, the main team would be the x-men, and the secondary team would have been the fantastic four.

She inherits more power than any other character thus far without going through the character development for it. Take Scarlet Witch, the only one capable of really rivaling Carol's power. She has been through so much emotionally and literally to master her power and get over personal hurdles, she has earned her power. Captain Marvel went through none of the development it took to get to Scarlet Witch, she just got the power and it feels like a lazy way of rushing character development which took Wanda or Tony several movies.

More people need to realize this could have been a total possibility for any attempted cinematic universe, even if it was Marvel. It's less about Marvel vs. DC and more about the MCU being lightning in a bottle that not only is the DC cinematic universe not anywhere close to, but the Universal Monsterverse, Legendary Kaijuverse, G.I. Joe, or Transformers aren't either. Imagine an alternate timeline where Warner Bros. and Disney are given the shaft and Lego (Bionicle as the flagship) is actually the leading cinematic universe, with the less successful, rival competitor CU being Hasbro, and Saban (Power Rangers) would be the next closest one. A timeline where toys eclipsed comic books as an adaptation source in pop culture lol.

I’ll be honest man, it isn’t that hard to make a cinematic universe. The problem is these companies only care about buzzwords like “cinematic universe” so they do everything they can to try to promote that idea and it falls flat on its face before it even starts. The reason why the MCU works so well is because it’s focus from the beginning was to make good superhero stories that’s stood on their own. Marvel is the only company that was interested in making good films first. DCEU, Dark Universe…all solely interested in making it a cinematic universe from the get go without focusing on making good films. Literally just make good films…then bring them all together. Once you’ve had your first crossover film, NOW you can start making a cinematic universe and building the world.

While there were cinematic universes in the past (namely the Universal Monsters in the 1930's and the og Toho Kaiju movies), the MCU definitely did play a part in revolutionizing how cinematic universes (or rather multiverses now) are made, and this vid perfectly illustrates how any cinematic universe can take a drastic turn due to how it's handled behind the scenes. I absolutely despise the fact that WB is basically removing Batman and Superman from the DCEU. They’re basically setting up a Justice League without it’s two biggest and most popular character. The new Justice League will flop even harder than Joss Whedon’s Justice League. It’s like WB is never gonna learn they just make it worse. I would have been completely fine if they recast Batman and Superman but replacing them with Batgirl and Supergirl is such a stupid idea. Look I absolutely love Barbara Gordon/ Batgirl as a character but she shouldn’t replace Bruce Wayne. If anyone would replace Bruce it should be Dick Grayson. In the comics Bruce even said the only one that should take on the mantle would be Dick Grayson he’s the only one worthy of carrying on the Batman’s legacy. Batgirl is a fantastic character but shouldn’t be replacing Bruce Wayne. I mean this new the Batman movie will just reignite the Batman hype so then getting rid of Batman in the only cinematic universe that DC has excluding the Arrowverse will not bode well with fans. I’ve waited so ling to see Batman share the screen with Superman, Flash, Wonder Woman etc. so it’s such a shame they’re just retiring Batman so soon. I hope at least they can then do Battle for the Cowl as a movie introduce Red Hood, Tim Drake and most importantly Nightwing. You could then have Dick take over for Bruce as Batman for a while until they decide that they wanna bring back THE Batman Bruce Wayne. They could just have some time travel shenanigans and bring in a new recast Batman into the DCEU who then will be in the Justice League and show up in various Bat-Family projects. We don’t need a solo Batman film in the DCEU since we’re getting Matt Reeves films but we do need a Batman who will be in Justice League films and appear in some other heroes or villains films to just remind everyone that Batman is still active and in Gotham City.

Also, if the Supergirl from The Flash is the official DCEU Supergirl, wouldn't it make more sense for her to debut in a Superman movie BEFORE getting her own movie? Hell, in Man Of Steel, there's an Easter egg implying she's in one of those pods. It's highly unlikely but I'm hoping that The Flash movie doesn't just kill Superman. As far as we know, they haven't killed Batman and even better, it's Michael Keaton who's Earth will probably retroactively be in the DCEU, which is really cool. But seriously, Warner Bros have ALWAYS been a-holes to the DC brand. From screwing over Margot Kidder and replacing her as the love interest in Superman 3 to refusing to fire a domestic abuser despite overwhelming evidence because of double standards. They've already ruined my excitement for The Flash and Aquaman 2. How do we know they're not gonna eff up Shazam 2 or Black Adam or any upcoming project knowing that they ruined their other DC movie franchises in some effed up way? They disgust me more than any studio in Hollywood. Disney is a close second. As much as I hate their business practices and their own long history of sabotaging their own brands, at the very least, they let Marvel Studios do what they want. To an extant. Yeah, I can't even say that completely because they've also made terrible decisions that ALMOST ruined the MCU. From their arrogant attitude with Sony that threatened to take Spider-Man out of the MCU to firing James Gunn over an ancient tweet that shows how much he's changed since then to almost releasing Black Widow on Disney+ without Scarlett and the filmmakers' consent. And God knows what else they did that we don't know about.

Ben was so fucked up that he quit Batman cause of Joss Whedon’s Justice League. He wanted to play Batman forever and was a dream come true but WB caused him to quit his dream role. Replacing Ben with a 70 year old Michael Keaton is definitely a mistake. Henry was just tossed away for no reason. My next MCU-marathon is going to be DCEU style - Captain America: The First Avenger, then Captain America: Civil War, Guardians of the Galaxy (only went with released movies), Thor, The Avengers (debating if the JL equivalent shouldn't be Infinity War to really cement they tried too much too quick), Black Panther, Ant-Man (goofy family film is a better equivalent to Shazam!), Black Widow, Thor: The Dark World (or Love and Thunder, both disappointing like WW84), Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2, Avengers: Endgame to represent ZSJL?, Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special (Peacemaker equivalent), Eternals (best equivalent to Black Adam), Ant-Man and the Wasp, Spider-Man: No Way Home (imagine if the first Flash movie was Flashpoint!), Ms. Marvel (good equivalent for Blue Beetle which was originally meant for streaming, so it'll just be ep1,2,6), and finally Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Great video. One minor quibble though. I would have the Andrew Garfield Spider-Man be the equivalent of Ben Affleck Batman as there was originally plans to have the Oscorp tower show up in the first Avengers. In addition, it would make sense to have a standalone young Spider-Man be played by Tom Holland with Andrew Garfield Spidey being replaced by Tobey Maguire Spidey in the DS movie. Further support is the fact that you compared Affleck Batman with Andrew Garfield in your hypothetical NWH Batman film pitch.

hopefully it rebuilds itself via soft reboots, like the suicide squad and snyder cut. maybe down the line, there's another civil war in the justice league but it's made more impactful as we're seeing characters that have grown connections and bonds be forced to fight with the focus being on batman and superman as they both deal with the civil war differently, or, maybe it doesn't even need to be about batman and superman, but instead an event just happens within the justice league and it's about the other cast dealing with it

It's clear the the mcu needs to space out projects and that additional time for quality control. With DC...the execs just wanted their bonuses film be damned

How about a Smash Bros Citematic Universe? Iron Man = Metroid: It's weird not for me to start with Mario or Zelda but iron Man movies die out, so this will be the perfect placememt. It would set up the Citematic Universe, and will bean origion story of Samus, with Ridley as the villain. It would alao introduce Master Hand, settimg up Super Smash Bros. The Incredible Hulk = Kid Icarus: Since TIH is a one off movie it makes sense to have a Kid Icarus movie at this place. It would have Kirby and Fox as cameos. Iron Man 2 = Metroid Prime: The sequel will be based on Metroid Prime 1, but with Dark Samus and not Ridley, and introduce Pokémon into this world with Pikachu and Jigglypuff. Thor = The Legend of Zelda: An original story where Link fails Zelda and gets banished from Hyrule, and gets sent to a mix of Mute City and Onnet, which would introduce Lucas, Ness and Captain Falcon. Wouldmalso set up Ganon as a big villain later on. Captain America: The First Avenger = Super Mario Bros: Would be the same as the real life Mario movie but instead of the Power Star is the Wind thingy from Zelda, and would include Daisy (Who would also fake her death) and a larger role for Yoshi, and of cource Live-Action. Avengers = Super Smash Bros.: The roster would include the original 12 and Pit, Peach and Zelda, and the villain would be Ganon. Setiings may include Onnet and the Mushroom Kingdom at the start. Iron Man 3 = Metroid Dread: Would be based on the game with the same name, having Mewtwo as the villain and it would have Pichu have a pretty sizable role. Thor: The Dark World = The Legend of Zelda: Majoras Mask: Aould be the same as the game with the same name, except Link is older, and would give Shiek a pretty majour role, along with Young Link. Guardians of the Galaxy = Starfox: A perfect match. Would include Team Starfox and Krystal, and would have team Starwolf as the villains. Would also introduce Dimentio as the equilvalant of Thanos. Captain America: The Winter Soldier = Super Mario and the Orange Danger: Would include Daisy as a villain and Wario to be like Falcon. At the start, Daisy would turn Marth and Roy into Stone, Kidnap Popo and Nana, and send Mr Game and Watch and R.O.B to a maze. Dr. Mario would be a minor character at most, and the Post-Credits scene would imtroduce Lucario and Greninja. Avengers: Age of Ultron = Super Smash Bros. Melee: Would have all the previously mention heroes in the roster, and even some villains. Greninja and Lucario would start as villains and then become heroes. Count Bleck would be Ultron and Shulk would be Vision. Ant Man = Kirby: Would be based on Kirby: Return to Dream Land, having the same heroes and villains, no cameos. Captain America: Civil War = Mario Kart: Would be a racing movie with ALL Brawl characters that haven't been introduced yet. Would have Double Dash items, since they'll look cool in a movie. Rainbow Road would be based on Wii, and the main villain, Fawful, ends up desstroying it, but Rosalina fixes it. Doctor Strange = Animal Crossing: Would be a mix of Animal Crossing, Wii Fot and Punch Out and would introduce ALL Smash 4 characters that haven't yet, except for the Third Parties and Fire Emblem characters, with Bowser JR being the main villain. Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 = Starfox Assault. Would be a space movie, with some F-Zero characters and Metroid Characters being introduced, and introducing the Yokai as the main enemies. Spiderman: Homecoming = Sonic Heroes: Would be based on the game same name, but with a new team, Team Man, with Pac Man, Mega Man and Rayman all being introduced. Thor Ragnarok = The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Would be a mix of Kid Icarus Uprising and Breath of the Wild, with some Rhythm Heaven characters, and at the end, Hyrule gets completely destroyed and gets sucked up by Dimentio, teasing the next SSB movie. Black Panther = Fire Emblem: Would take place in Akania and have all Fire Emblem Characters in Smash, along with the Smash4 DLC characters. Avengers: Infinity War = Super Smash Bros. Brawl: Would star all the heroes and villains from the past movies
