To keep the dowels fromm getting ruined by the dirt or by water, you could put a few layers of shelack on them. i did that to some of my yard decorations and it really helped it from getting ruined. Just a suggestion. The trees turned out great, thank you for sharing.

Real quick, just had an idea, what if you put found pinecones in a downward fashion just on the surface (the triangle mod shape)..hmmm🤔..my husband will think I'm crazy😅
