Good to see you, Tina. You made some real pretty jelly and I bet it tastes as pretty as it looks.

Hi! It is nice to see you too. Those plums do make a pretty jar, don't they. Hope you had a lovely Easter. Happy Spring! :-) Tina

I will be attempting my first ever batch of plum jelly this week. I really enjoyed your video. I loved, just loved your assessment on the jar lids. You were spot on. When you said That means 30 years ago we had a lot better lids, I laughed out loud.

Your jelly turned out beautiful. Thanks for the tip about the butter. I didn't know you could do that.

Thank you and you're welcome! I was surprised how delicious the butter is the first time I made it. :-) Tina

You know I’ve noticed the not sealing too. I started warming my lids just like before and they are sealing much better.

how did you extract the juice

How do you get the juice? Did you add water to the pot to extract the juice?

I followed your directions but my jelly turned out kinda stiff. I wonder what I did wrong

Hello there, I watched your Morel Mushroom video. Whatever happened did you grow any?
@PecanCorner6 жыл бұрын
Hi Pamela, Not that I have found :-( They could be coming up and I have missed them but I don't think so. I suspect it is just too dry here for them to grow. Even though we have not been in drought, our rain is sporatic, so everything really dries out between rains. Thanks for asking! :-) Tina

I'm gald to see that I'm not the only one who dislikes the way they do the directions....they start you out on one page and then it jumps you to another page right in the middle of it.

It's crazy! I guess it saves them half a penny per box or something! :-D Tina

Are your plums coming off already?? Ours aren’t even close.
@PecanCorner6 жыл бұрын
No ma'am, this video is from last year and I forgot to upload it then! So when I discovered I had it I figured I better get it up in time for this year's crop! LOL!

I thought I was way behind. Lol thank you. We boil the plums for an hour and then let it sit in the water overnight. Strain the juice off and make jelly like that them run the pulp through a food mill for plum butter. Love that stuff!!
@PecanCorner6 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah, wild plum butter is to die for! Interesting about letting them sit overnight before straining them. Does it give you a stronger juice?
@michelespaid5936 жыл бұрын
I don’t know if the juice is stronger because I’ve never done it any other way. But the juice is very tart and I’ve never had it be bland. And it’s a beautiful color. A peachy pink.

They almost look like cherries lol

They do! LOL! Cherries won't grow here - it doesn't get reliably cold enough. I wish they would! :-) Tina
