Thank You for sharing this video for the benefit of others. My wife is having a knee replacement done this coming Monday, and it is nice to see what she will be going through. I had my knee replacement in 2019, and it wasn't robotic. Secondly, my knee replacement was not glued since I'm 61 and most likely will need another knee replacement when Im 71 years old. This looks like a more advanced way of knee replacing. Keep up the good work. Da P8NTRMAN 🎨

This gives me hope! I've lived 31 years in pain from a major knee injury.

How do you sterilize the knee parts before placing them on the bones? Looks like they come in a plastic container? I'm getting my knee done in January 2025 and an infection scares the hell out of me. From what I've read, only 1-2% get an infection, but if you get one, it's really bad.

they're put into the plastic sterilized, that's the point of the plastic

I used to be an Makoplasty Specialist which is the person that runs the software on the robot during surgery. You can see the MPS for this case in a red bonnet in this video. The implants are sealed at the factory and then irradiated with gamma radiation. As long as there are no holes in the packaging, you can be sure that the implants are completely sterile. And everyone in the room is very vigilant in looking for holes. There is also an outer non sterile box over the plastic insert that protects the sterile seal further. It only gets opened in the operating room. They are even packed in inert nitrogen gas so there is no chance of the metal implants oxidizing and compromising their strength. It's exactly the same method of sterilization used for everything disposable for the operation like gloves, gowns, scalpels, etc. For the instruments that are not disposable, they are sterilized on site using a steam autoclave.

VÍ EL VIDEO DE JANE., QUERO DECIRLE QUE ME LLENO DE PAZ, CALMO MI TRISTEZA,DEPRESION Y ANSIEDAD. ESTADOS DE ANIMO QUE NO ME DEJABAN EN PAZ NI DE DÍA NI DE NOCHE. ¡ NCREIBLE ! LO QUE SU VIDEO LOGRO EN MÍ. ME ENCANTARIA TENER CIRUGIAS CON ROBOT MAKU,YA QUE LA RECUPERACION ES RAPIDA ADEMAS DE QUE LAS PROTESIS SON DE BUENA CALIDAD PARA DURAR MUCHOS AÑOS. SOY UNA MIJER SOLA,DEPENPENDO DE MI MISMA Y MIS MASCOTAS DEOENDEN DE MI. ME ATERRA EL FUTURO,YA QUE CAMINO UN POCO LIMITADA,TENGO ARTROSIS GRADO 3 EN AMBAS RODILLAS. ME ATERRA PERDER MI INDEPENDENCIA ¿ QUE VOY HACER ? TENGO MIEDO DE QUEDAR MANCA Y CON DOLOR CRONICO ,TENGO 49 AÑOS Y NO SE CUANTO VIVIRE. NO SE COMO SERA MI FUTURO. SOLO ME QUEDA EL SISTEMA PUBLICO DE SALUD DONDE LAS PROTESIS DURAN SOLO 10 AÑOS Y VOLVERSE A OPERAR 😔 NO TENGO SUFICIENTE ECONOMIA PARA OPERACION CON MAKU. AUN ASÍ EL VIDEO DE JANE LOGRO CALMAR MUCHO MI TRISTEZA,DEPRESION Y ANSIEDAD,QUE NO ME DEJAN EN PAZ NI DE DIA NI DE NOCHE.

Amazing stuff. However my insurance won't cover the robotic surgery. Thanks Anthem BCBS for living in the past.
