Damn it, do I LOVE Makoto's first dark turn. One of my favorite scenes in the nearly 500 anime series and movies I've watched. "Sayonara." Just terribly beautiful. Then, the big climax of the season!!! Angel, you are one of like 2 or 3 total reacters who remember Sophia being discussed in episode 3 or 4. Nice, sir! You're going right to season 2, riiiiight?

19:47 Makoto is unique, as either human or hyuman. Unfortunately, the anime can not give you more pertainate information on him loke the novel does. Hopefully, getting that 3rd season will enlighten anime-onlys further.

Makoto has some deep inside of him but her learned how to be 'normal' but you see small peeks of it peeking out at times like this. mostly when he fed up and done wiht everything.

its such a savage moment in this episode when Makoto is forced to watch the Woman's memories of the mana in his ring destroying his friends while he is helpless to do anything to stop it and even though its obviously the hyumans fault he would definitely be blaming himself for part of that since at the end of it, it was his own mana that killed his friends.

It's too bad they cut it from the anime, but this isn't the first time we see Makoto's ruthless side in the novel. When he sends Tomoe and Mio to save the adventurer who looks like the girl from his school, in the novel he did that because he didn't think he could restrain himself from murdering Mils' crew for what they had done. He is the cheerful, fun guy he shows with his allies and friends, but he is also the cold, ruthless monster he shows to anyone becoming a real enemy to him and his. Do try to stay out of the latter group.

She deserve it after what happen to our beloved tomoe x Makoto fragment.....Makoto's dark mode are no joke...he literally on the path of becoming a monster plus don't forget that Tsukuyomi grants him a powers that far stronger than we thought..

This one was just Tomoe's fragment, that one doesn't come till later. I agree with you about him becoming a 'monster'. This shows what could have happened to him if he did have the support of the people around him.

The distortes sound of her voice represents Makoto losing his connection to humanity. When you cant communicate properly with the other party and all they do is cause you problems its only natural you would see them as lesser

Makoto's viewpoint on Death is skewed. Makoto spent approximately 7 yrs from his birth wondering is this the day he dies due to not being able to adapt to Earth. He is technically an alien from another planet. It was only after a chance meeting that changed him that he could interact with Human children.

Yeah, it's unfortunate the anime had to cut so many bits from the novel. By this point in it, readers have learned that Makoto's older sister was protected by the Goddess's blessing, and his youngest was born fully adapted to Earth, but Makoto was born without either benefit and struggled just to live for a long time. I'll leave out the things we learn later on.

@@bam7973 IMHO from a WN readers point of view it was pretty good. While not every episode was flashy and action packed as the first season, it did help with world building. Of course with a few things they didn't go into as much details as the WN, but they did hit the main ones.

@@bam7973 Yeah, the second season is Meeh compared to Light Novel. But that season 3 its nice, more political and when have fight, we have nice action scenes. The "TONE" of season 3 its more like season 1. It's dont so "silly" like the season 2
