"Hold our brown bears, crab legs and millions of square acres of untouched land. Malaysia is cute" - Alaska and Russia.
@motherlandbot6837
@motherlandbot6837 28 күн бұрын
Alaska and Russia don't even come close to Malaysia's incredible biodiversity. Biodiversity generally increases towards the Equator, and SE Asia is one of our planet's great biodiversity hotspots. Russia is the most biodiverse nation in Europe, and they have far more original forest by area than the rest of Europe combined. Meanwhile, the Western Europeans who lecture others about biodiversity...
@whiskeymonk4085

@motherlandbot6837 Malaysia is tiny you could fit hundreds in Russia and Alaska. Alaskan Tongass national Forest has more biomass per square mile than the thickest jungles of the Amazon River basin. All else in the world pales when compared to R and A.
@motherlandbot6837
@motherlandbot6837 28 күн бұрын
@whiskeymonk4085 I've actually lived in Alaska, and what they have are huge populations of a relatively small number of species. Russia's vast original taiga forests are natural monocultures of spruce, varied in limited areas by firs and tamarisk, and have little natural biodiversity compared to tropical dry and rainforest, or even subtropical forests. Having thriving populations of Brown Bears and (in Russia) Siberian Tigers (which according to recent DNA analysis, are not sufficiently distinct from Bengal Tigers to warrant separate subspecies designation) does not represent biodiversity as they are but 2 species. China also has wild populations of Brown Bears, Amur Tigers, Asian Elephants, Asian Black Bears, etc, etc but far less primary forest than Russia. Alaska has tons of summer mosquitoes but less than 6 species of freshwater fishes, and limited forest, either primary or secondary. Meanwhile Malaysia (yes, I've lived there too) has such incredible biodiversity that each tree is a unique ecosystem. Same for Indonesia. In biodiversity, size does not equal quality.

As a Malaysian, my message to other Malaysians. The destruction of wildlife habitat due to uncontrolled & unsustainable agricultural is *real* . Achieving sustainable agricultural is critical. And as a Malaysian Muslim, remember, we human the Caliph of the earth must take care of our environment. Especially the political leaders. *You will be questioned for any wrongdoing in the afterlife* !!!

Wild Life. Organized in the unorganized world. They never know what happens next. Only suspect, anticipate. Nutrients are plentiful. It is however a harsh environment. Quite uncomfortable. The crocodile eggs were spared of rising water. The hatched baby crocodiles made it into the water. Timing, luck. The adult crocodile overlooking the unhatched eggs can neither stop the rain induced rising water, or relocate her eggs. 32:19 😂 what fallen tree trunks are for! Otters versus macaques... Please don't fight! Surprisingly river otters have a kind of intelligence that can assimilate well with human intelligence. Or vice versa. Though they look and are very different from humans. From Wikipedia [North American river otters] : "The New World river otters originated from the Old World river otters following a migration across the Bering Land Bridge, which existed off and on between 1.8 million and 10,000 years ago. The otters migrated to North America and southwards again across the Panamanian Land Bridge, which formed 3 Mya." Didn't find any information as such about the Asian otters. I guess these did not migrate/relocate.
