Good one Elmo - this time featuring Setapak 👍. I would say it's a good spread of different food / dishes !!! The hokkien fried mee while being stir fried at Lian Bee restaurant looks so "Wok Hei" sufficient and again makes me mouth watering !!! Very good indeed. It's also worth to note on hawkers who spend many years of their hardworking life preparing the food for the public- truly a noble effort by all of them ( some as long as 40 years or more ). Thank you very much Elmo and also not forgetting Danny for this interesting and down to earth food haunting episode. Yatt Lau !!! Mou Tat Deng !!!👌👌👌

Well done Elmo. You are doing a great job in helping promote these food businesses coming out of long MCO hiatus. If I could suggest, ranking these businesses not only on the food quality but also on the cutlery the food is served with. Even in Vietnam, the humblest street food where one has to almost squat is served using ceramic bowls/plates. Melamine cutlery is hardly ever used there. I often wondered why they could do so but not so much here in Malaysia. I feel we need to encourage vendors to up their game in this respect as all know presentation is vital. And I also feel you're in an excellent position to influence things. Keep up the excellent work. p/s: I'm not in any cutlery business whether melamine, ceramic or otherwise, just concerned about the small risks we're taking with melamine in general esp. when served with hot food.

Oh my .. setapak aka " Biscuit factory " .. it has been ages since i visited there. So much have change . Those days there were plenty of good & cheap foods available. I remember in sri rampai there was an Uncle that sold " egg rice ".. basically egg omelet with rice and he even gave flat discounts to student , all you need is to show your student card . Thanks Elmo for featuring the " new" Setapak food area..surely will make a trip back there

I used to stay in Taman Fulong, now Taman P Ramli if I'm not mistaken during my college time. Mixed rice served in kopitiams along the main street was unbelievably cheap ( rm1.2 if my memory serves me right), I felt replete with the portions served most of the time, and last but not least, we were allowed to refill our Chinese ice tea as many times as we can take! The only drawback was the rental for room was exorbitant, rm100 per person, room shared by 4, and we were requested by the landlord to feed his German shepherd when he's not around. Mustn't forget that was 30 over years ago! A lot of food stalls and eateries over there, but I patronized most were those kopitiams mentioned earlier as an indigent student back then, poor me.

As a setapak person, those food that you recommended are not famous and delicious at all. No disrespect to you and always love your content and effort. I have the same issue with Elmo too in the past, Elmo is right, taste is subjective. So I kept silent after that. Of course there are some recommendation that does not sync with my taste bud. I wanted to give feedback after I tried on the recommendation, after second thoughts I better keep the comments to myself. By doing so, it gives a better rating for Elmo and appreciation for his efforts. Anyway, thank you for the heads-up, name of the stall or shop, please. I will try both. I want to bring an issue recently with a prawn mee stall in Pudu wai sek kai. It is was my favourite stall and the stall was feature in a newspaper too. Once, I went there near closing time and on a peak day, the prawn mee broth was tasteless. I ask the boss, why is the prawn soup not so tasty today. The boss reply, "Today a lot of people"?! The subtle meaning, the boss added a lot of water to maximised his profits. The boss has destroyed his own reputation for greed. I was a regular there and I am not supporting the stall anymore. Elmo has always asked us to support hawkers, as for this case I cannot support a man's greed. My apologies.

I can’t believe how timing works between us. I just went to Setapak last week for the first time in last 20 years. Reason is the India High Commission is there and they asked for interview to assess my visa application. Experience was poor and I got infected with covid after that. I thought I won’t go back there again but after this video, I might change my mind.
