they always tell on themselves when they say that it is ok to be misogynistic to women they deem 'bad'. If you were a real feminist, you would understand that it does not matter if you like a woman or not, it is never ok to be misogynistic. you dont go around and are racist to people of colour if you dont like them, homophobic to gay people if you dont like them, and even say it is not ok to misgender trans rapists. but being openly misogynistic to women you dont agree with? why is that ok?

Vaush (and Xanderhal and Destiny in a past life) do this all the time. They constantly put down women--- but as a "joke" ya'll. They call it "ironic misogyny" and they claim that it's supposed to be so outrageous that it's an obvious joke. (EX the J K Rowling controversy w/ Vaush.) It's just an obvious excuse to be misogynistic- the idea that they try to rationalize and intellectualize it while misogyny is thriving- esp. online is just stupid. I hate it. And I'd probably be their target demo if they didn't do this BS. If it's so obviously ironic try it w/ transphobia. (Destiny sit down for this one.) No? No takers? Gee, maybe think about that for a second. Both isms are alive, well, and spreading online and IRL like a cancer. Thank you Xan and Vaush- 2 white men who decided it was their place to make misogyny a joke. If you don't see the dumb in that sentence then... enjoy your subs. And yes, this vid was particularly egregious- it's the one I reference the most when Vaush is at his most irritating.

because many men can only understand power in a very superficial way like physical superioritiy or threatening someone. That's why in stories written for the average superficial man women can be shown as powerful by making them physically powerful. They can conceive power only as something you take and not something you can be given like the power a husband gives to the wives he respects, or the power the children give to the mother who knows what is best for them, or the power given to a professional in charge that cares about the success of her team.

@@theletterm1787 This is a simplification. Many women were, many weren't. Depends on the place, religious context, particular family dynamics etc. My grandmothers were housewives in the 1950s. Maternal grandmother: a right little Thatcher in almost every respect, except she had an even more old-fashioned name than "Margaret."

@@argonhammer9352 I think it does. Positive and toxic masculinities have somewhat similar traits, but positive masculinity comes from a mentally/emotionally secure place, and toxic masculinity comes from a very insecure place. So, for example, positive masculinity is confident, while toxic masculinity has bravado. Similarly, humility vs arrogance, restraint vs impulsiveness, thoughtfulness vs thoughtlessness, protective vs aggressive, etc. The result is that a woman (or child, or anyone else) looking at a positive man feels comfortable as she is, feels that this is someone who would protect her if needed, but not intrude if unwanted. But a woman looking at a toxic man sees someone who's aggression could turn on her as easily as on someone else, who will not pay attention to what she feels/wants/needs, only to what he feels/wants/needs. Therefore, positive masculinity would make her feel safe, and toxic masculinity would make her feel threatened.

@@theletterm1787 Yup. Off the top of my head, his entire debate with Destiny over the Philosophy Tube stuff. He flat out stated that misinformation was okay if progressives and leftists did it because a little misinformation was fine so long as the cause was morally just. His explanation was because he views the world through a consequentialist lense (Literally: moral weight should be viewed by the outcome of an action, not the action itself). He's very open about being a consequentialist. You might remember this as the debate where he said that it's not morally wrong for someone to advocate for a view but live in defiance or complicity with an opposing view. In the real world we call people "hypocrites" when they do that. I would have thought Ian misspoke, but he doubled down on this, especially with the Hasan drama. Marx would be turning in his grave.

Dear god...It's so dam true! Vaush will literally just resort to making wild claims about his debate opponents alleged quotes from the past that are completely unverified and nearly always untrue or taken completely out of context inorder to take the weaselly coward's way out of losing an arguments or in cowardly attempt to dominate the rest of a debate. Especially if he fears that he may lose due to being outclassed by a much more mature and obviously more professional debate opponent. Which if Vaush knows he's being made to look like a complete fool, that's when he tends to yell over his opponenta the most where he tends to become the most vulgar, nasty, and rude where name calling becomes his main technique utilized to attempt to insult and demean while pretty much just verbally abusing his opponent as they usually continue to just try and get a word in edge wise while they usually stutter in almost a state of awe and disbelief at how much of gross piece of shit he really is. Aswell as how much of a psedo- intellectual hipster/communist wannabe. Whle at the end of the day Vaush is just an arrogant, leftist, whiny little bitch hypocrite with absolutely no true core individuality within himself that actually come from a real, pure and true place inside himself. There is no "from the botox of his heart. He's essentially just a shitty NPC that one day got hijacked/possessed by a shitty leftist virus in the style of an Agent Smith clone from "The Matrix Reloaded." So, in other words Leftism along with that shitty watered down, cherry picked, Western Leftist Marxism Vaush is always heard ignorantly misqouting is responsible for infecting western society today in nearly the same exact way that a virus does. As it infects, spreading it's genetic code from cell to cell, while hijacking these cells in order to travel to the next available cell to infect, or to travel from person to person though physical human contact or as an airborne virus if it had mutated enough to be able to travel through this route. Infecting more and more as a mild infection becomes a chronic illness, then later spreading and mutating as the virus or political ideology becomes more dangerous, radicalized, and deadly, Once it has spread to nearly every cell or every person that exists in society or the human body, the final stage of this "illness" is now a terminal disease with estimated linit of time until the body or the society can no longer sustain itself and death occurs. The downward spiral of the society/human body is now unavoidable and the destruction of the society and death of the human has occurrd... In other words right now Western society is pretty much has HIV or stage 2-3 cancer, and it isn't being responsible or taking care of itself, nor is it taking the right medications or recieving the right treatments for it's chronic illness. Needless to say, as a society we are really close to getting full blown AIDS, or ending uo with the cancer becoming stage 4 where we end up only have a year or less to live before we/society wither away, collapse, and then die while suffering and experiencing worse and worse pain until death finally comes... Yes, that is how I view Leftism, Marxism, Fascism, or any other political ideology that attempts to control the narrative of what truth and reality actually are by dictating what can and cannot be said. Essentially demanding that society surrender their legally protected right of freedom of speech, which is constantly under attack by many so called politicians and government leaders. Which of course they want to control what we can say and speak. All because the government and current political figures can then control so, so, so much more. Simply by sneaking in some fine print...

Why are 'feminine strength' and 'masculine strength' different? Masculine and feminine are entirely human concepts, the idea that femininity is being nurturing and masculinity is being a protector and provider is man-made, and thats proven by studies that show that in the past, women and men did both the hunting and the gathering. I think strength is an individual quality that's different for everyone. If a man is nurturing then that's his strength, why should he be labeled as feminine? A woman can be feminine and yet want to be a provider and a protector, that's her strength, it doesn't somehow invalidate her gender or presentation.

I don't know why or how to deal with my reactions to being touched or sexualised, but it's a constant struggle. I don't know why it started either. I've come to the opinion that it was maybe as a result of being sexualised at an age where I was much too young (pre-teen) and reacting negatively ever since to anything that reminds me of the discomfort I felt then. He also argued that if you kill someone in self defense and a mob chases you, you should submit yourself to the mob. Not only is he a creep, but he is also a dumbass. He harassed a girl named poppy a long time ago and got out of it like nothing happened.

I agree. She's a fascinating and very articulate young woman with a very pleasant voice. I'm still a feminist who believes that "femininity" is largely a socially constructed concept, rather than a biologically-based characteristic. There are some people that don't put a lot of effort into their appearance cause of mental health and but in my humble opinion, when someone doesn't have those sort of issues, they way they carry themselves says a lot about a person (being clean, having ironed clothing, a fresh breath, professional clothing in a professional setting) He just seems like an asshole who has too much time on their hands and wants to disrespect and make videos about anyone who doesn't agree with him, just petty and immature for his age.

I cringe at forcing this over the top, hyperreal masculinity on female protagonists. It's really, really unfortunate. The masculine/feminine distinction also smudges many other types of heroine. Is Lewis Carroll's Alice masculine or feminine? If I had to summarise her in three words, it would be "curious, confident, talkative." None of these are straightforwardly masculine or feminine traits. Yet she was the #1 female character that I identified with as a boy.

I've only seen a handful of clips of Vaush so I don't know much about him, but to me it seems like he is just the type of phenomenon wherr he happens to believe all the things that are currently popular to believe. It's like with Blair White, where she is preaching transphobic narratives while being a transphobe. At a time, Blair was popular because it gave people the opportunity to say transphobic stuff while being backed by a trans person, so they could even claim that they're noz a transphobe. Vaush is the feminist that believes a lot of stuff that is popular within feminists, but he doesn't understand why these beliefs exist, but he has adapted to say the type of stuff you would want to hear from a man that has a geasp on feminism, but I figure eventually he will fall out of the spotlight together with Blair white, because people that don't understand the stuff they preach also lack the ability to grow from that standpoint. Vaush has in the past made it a point that it is okay to be sexist to someone who is transphobic, which is really misunderstanding the problem about descrimination from the core.

I can't believe it took me 7 months to watch this video, its shocking how cruel and hateful vaush is to a woman who just wants to be a woman. I grew up in a very conservative household but even I struggled to accept what was going on with my body during puberty and how I was becoming a sexual being to men while also becoming sexually vulnerable. It messes with your mind when you feel weak compared to men and think you have to be like men and suppress your femininity to be strong. I finally had enough of feeling unfeminine and started changing how I dress, how I act, how I think and embraced the parts of me that wanted to be feminine. I feel more confident in my body and happy with how I look. Men treat me different, they actually treat me better. I refuse to apologize for wanting to be womanly. I am a woman and happy to be one.
