@Projekt Kobra The point was to save time by saving the two from stress rather than use it for social media. Who knows how long she waited for her husband and then for scissors while she imagined social fame. Sorry to be cynical but after reflecting on and knowing deer are high stress animals with often fatal consequences it wasn’t a heartwarming moment for me.

I understand your point. But it's a bit easy to forget about the animals that have no problem killing their own offspring, or the offspring of others. People aren't angels. But neither are animals.
@Garblegox
@Garblegox 3 жыл бұрын
It's kind of insane how the modern concept of animals is that they're just objects, and we're the only subjects in existence. Animal "science" for the past century has mostly involved cramming things into glass boxes with food games, giving them numbers instead of names, and torturing them into mechanical behavior. Then we called animals boring idiots. That's where behaviorism has gotten us. Bleak and useless. But things are changing for the better. Scientists are dropping behaviorism for ethology. Ethology, the study of animals' _character_ in nature, rather than just the _behavior_ we manipulate out of them in unnatural places. Where animals get names, peers, and stories. I'm hoping future generations won't need that reminder.

@carriersignal
@carriersignal Жыл бұрын
Typical asinine idealistic comment. Things like this are going to happen no matter what when you have wildlife living close to people. Animals have drowned in swimming pools, gotten trapped under homes, are routinely hit by cars, have been mutilated under the hoods of cars when starting engines, had their heads stuck in fences, the list is endless. It is impossible for the average person with everything they have going on in their lives to imagine all the ways animals could be harmed let alone animal proof their yard. Things like this happen and its unfortunate. The dear was saved and will have an interesting story to tell his friends in the woods.

I don't think she sounded entitled, I think she just sounded like a kid. If she was entitled, I think she would have been complaining about the fawn the whole time, but instead she was trying to help out. She sounds too young to have a job, even babysitting, but old enough to be given semi-expensive stuff with a warning to be careful not to break it. And, after the animals were safe, she noticed something that she likely used had gotten damaged -- like a kid who saw the family's stuff broken by something outside their control despite their best efforts not to break it.

Seriously! Another case of "let me get my camera" as someone or some animal is screeching for help. Not to mention the fawn needed help because of a stupid soccer net that should of been rolled up when you have a freakin forest for a backyard. How long was that poor fawn there?! She watched this scene, called hubby, waited for hubby, waited while her child finally got scissors and made sure that damn camera was filming the whole time...it's an epidemic that's sick, twisted, selfish + ignorant. Put down the camera people!!!

Agree with the first half of your statement, not the second. She was utter crap with a camera! Didn't see the actual rescue, never saw any reunion. Just a lot of swinging around from left to right. Her heart may have been in (more or less) the right place, but man, I hope I'm never stuck in an elevator with her.

I really appreciate videos like these where people are helping animals. A few things, though. When approaching animals with sharp objects like knives & scissors it's better to conceal them than flaunt them in front of their terrified eyes; they know the functions of such things & they are not blessed with the insight that humans are trying to help. Shooting an animal in distress instead of the actual rescue helps no one, & it makes for a stressful video, so, maybe, one can refrain from shooting if they are terrified to be attacked by a petrified animal. & Lastly, keeping a net down when not in use is a great practice. Baby animals break their legs, birds tear their wings off because we are too lazy to fold up a freaking net.

I saw a totally different version of same video where Mom blocked a car and he got out and followed her to the baby fawn trapped. No matter what, u can't go cutting up someone's property if the fawn cud be released without doing that. This looks like a dramatized version! In the other video as the guy was leaving the mom and baby fawn came up to the man and the fawn fell down on to ground to say thank you, and the man even pets the little thing on the head with mama deer just watching.😊❤

I know, right? I was getting nervous by how long it was taking these people to finally free the fawn. If you pay attention, the mother deer starts stomping around getting extremely impatient with them to get her baby out of that hideous net. And then when the mother deer couldn't find the fawn when it was just behind her shows how panicked the mother was! As others have mentioned here, we need to learn to share the planet with ALL the animals...we as humans do not own the planet.

Moments like this are one of the many reasons I wish I could communicate with animals in a way they could understand. Even if just to let them know "Hey, I'm not gonna eat/hurt you or your young...I just want to help". It's amazing no one got hurt either human, because deer are capable of doing a lot of damage with those hooves, or animal considering the fawn could have easily broken one of those spindly little legs if he/she struggled too much. Glad they were able to cut the net away.

i hate it when you want to fool the audience. the calls at the end did not come from the fawn. the mother would have reacted immediately. that was more of a dog. i'm also upset that people prefer to film instead of organizing scissors before the man arrives. and filming the mother up close was what drove her away in the first place.

I absolutely agree. Before mobile phones back when I was a kid in the 70's we would have just worked quietly and quickly to free the fawn instead of making a video about it. If we were lucky and quick enough after it was free, maybe a photo might be taken on a camera, but today it's all about filming them in distress first and acting later.

Yeah, I was annoyed by that too. You don't need to call your husband to cut through rope you could have easily done yourself. That, and even with her kid there they didn't have any scissors or knives prepared to cut it out. The husband walked up and panicked the animals without tools ready too. I'm no wildlife expert, but I'd have been way more active in freeing it, or at least getting the tools at hand.

SMH! I get it you guys, maybe she should have jumped in herself and done more, like getting the scissors ready! I would have, maybe you would have but she did nothing. Do not fault her for what she didn't do, at least she got on the phone and called her husband who came to mama and babies rescue. Instead have being a great reuniting of mama and her baby it could have had some injuries to all. Deer are wild creatures! You never know when they may think you are harming instead of helping. I know that stags can take a large man to the ground and stomp him to death or leave them with serious, debilitating injuries! If I were by myself with a young child I would have had to wait for another adult to be there. She was talking out to the doe when he was cutting the baby from the net thus distracting her from the situation. I'm just thankful that they were reunited with no injuries to the animals or humans! What a great ending for all, and yes she did mention Haley quite a few times, but maybe she is as proud of Haley as much as that mama doe was of her little fawn! God doesn't like ugly!
