How she was able to even stand composed after what happened to her little angel idk but to have the strength she had to show the world what had been done to Emmett? That is just awe inspiring. I can’t imagine the pain of losing a child let alone like that, but she had one hell of a set, cuz she was not about to let her baby go in the ground without the world seeing what those monster did to him. Both my Great Grandparents we're free and had my Papa in 1935 and was born and raised in Deadwood, TX outside of Carthage. On my mom's side my great grandma is straight from Mongolia Asia. As a black young woman I feel this needs to happen and we need to listen things have gotten better overtime but sadly have not changed. I believe regardless of if the accuser lied or not, Emmett would still have died at those murderers’ hands for the simple fact people where talking and that husband looked like less than a man if “someone” was not made an example of for talking to his wife. I'm a white woman in my 50's never heard of Emmet until Dave Chappelle spoke about him at the end of one of his routines, I researched it and was mortified by the details, I was born at the start of Generation X, I grew up in a mixed community and school was the same way, it is important for kids growing up now to know our true history, not as the racist say to shame or guilt people for their predecessors but so they understand where people are coming from and can make changes, John 8:31-32 “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
