This will be the last low quality, slapped together in one take video I swear lol. Working on finishing up the semester but I've got more videos planned and I'm learning the editing as I go!

Hey man, I was wondering if you could share your thoughts on how this lens performs on distant subjects / infinity. I just picked up a 50R and I have my eyes on this lens. Cheers!
@thewildgoose74673 жыл бұрын
Very interesting. My 50r arrived today, but I didn't buy any Fuji lenses to go with it. I bought it to use with my vintage Nikon, Canon, Voigtlander and Zuiko glass. Might try it with my Bronica lenses too but can't wait for my adapters to arrive. Thanks for sharing your experiences with the Mamiya glass.

I am about to adapt some 645 lenses to X1D. I am wondering how you can tell which lens is used on each shot since there is no communication between lens and body. Thanks.

Dude, the way you explain things is honestly really casual it doesn't sound technical and "jargony", and I hope to see more content from you; cause I've been looking for videos where they adapt vintage medium format lenses on the GFX.

Thanks man, I'll definitely work on more putting together videos

Huge fan of your videos, thank you. Have you looked into any of the Kipon .7 focal reducers for Contax-GFX? I'd be curious what your take is versus the Fotodiox adapter. Thanks again!

I haven't looked into any other adapters, if I ever get any contax lenses I'm sure I'd look into it

@@joshshanksphoto ps. In case it’s helpful, when your videos zoom into photos now, they seem to pixelate and blur. Maybe you can just crop into the image on the later frame in stead. Good luck.

Yeah I've definitely noticed that, thanks for the suggestion!

I have a 50mm nikkor lens 50 1.8 should i just get an adaptor for it? Or should i get the MAMIYA with the adaptor... thoughts highly appreciated!
@joshshanksphoto Жыл бұрын
Can't really make a recommendation based on just that. Totally depends on your budget, what you plan on shooting, and just your personal preference. I'd say do a little more digging and trust your gut! Whatever you think will make you like your photography more
@splootan Жыл бұрын
@joshshanksphoto I suppose it was more of a technical question, as I believe the MAMIYA is medium format and the nikon is 35mm... what you think? Does it really matter...
@joshshanksphoto Жыл бұрын
Oh for sure, I'd prefer using a medium format lens on a medium format body. I'd imagine a 35mm lens would give you some vignetting and probably wouldn't cover the sensor

These photos have definitely convinced me to buy some Mamiya glass! Just to get a further idea of how this lens renders colours, are these photos out of camera jpegs with fuji film simulations?

Especially wondering for the portraits taken around 5:00

Yeah, only editing I did was bring the exposure up a little bit and cropped in a bit. I can comment with the exact in camera settings later!

I got a optically nice copy of the 45mm, unfortunately its helicoid has rotational issues due to a lack of lubrication.

WHY ;-))) exist cheap FUJI GF 45/2.8 - AF and all work better, many old lenses is old technology, don't transfer contrast, resolution, nothing, contrast is OK - this is possible change, but resolution-sharpness not. I understand some very chep lens like OLYMPUS witch aperature 1.2 or 1.4 - WOW - i use tit, becuase fuji don't have, but when create 80/1.7 - i buy it - if crete 35 or 40 /1.4 (or 1.7 again ;-)) - i buy it too
