Let me tell you, of all the animes in the world, this was definitely one of them. My absolute favourite part was the 2 minutes where they're sleeping in a room and the only movement is the flickering fire, I thought my stream was buffering. You know it's great because Dark Souls 3 cribbed the atmosphere and imagery from this, that doesn't happen by accident. There's only like 5 complete sentences in the movie but they're heavy. 9.5 out of 10, highly recommend.

i was definitely reminded of dark souls 3 when watching this, but i think its a bit unfair to say they cribbed it. dark atmosphere with ruins of gothic architecture and choir singing doesnt sound like a formula that would be exclusive to this film or even that hard to come up with. if there were biological machines or 1000s of random bottles laying around in dark souls 3 then they might have copied it a bit too much.
