tell me very well! And the good practice of English for me in terms of the device is the main engine of the ME series. The last contract worked, but with a slightly different device, I had a 6S40ME-B. When we passed the Strait of Malacca, the engine went to the slow down, replaced the ELFI and everything became normal.

Great video, once while transiting red sea our ME-C engine slowed down, after lot of troubleshooting it was found that one fuse in MPC of a cylinder unit went off, we had to change MPC for that unit.

Great video and educational. Could you make a video for the procedures how to disconnect the MPC when to overhaul the FIVA of a certain cylinder.

yes its true exhaust gas bypass is used very rarely, but one interesting observation my C/E told me about was during manouevring there used to be an alarm 'XBP excercise function activated' means exhaust gas bypass used to open and close just to shed any carbon deposited so as to maintain smooth function.

Hi my friend nice video appreciate your efforts. But i would like to correct you on the exhaust gas bypass thing. It is not used for the reason u mentioned ( for ships sailing in colder areas. But it is used bcoz may be ur ship me has been optimised for part load continous operation for which the shipyard has fitted smaller T/C.your engine is capable of being fitted with bigger t/c.so at part load these small tc get 100 percent exhaust gas at part load. So in case if the engine is to be fitted at full load then some gas will need to be bypassed. As it can damage the turbocharger due to overspeeding.

+jaspreet singh Hello Jaspreet this is also a reason that this system is installed but not the only one.There is lot of reasons to do this system .And as i see this is used very rare .In my experience i have never seen use that system because most of the ships now travel with low steaming speed.

Hi everybody! As I remember the DIP switches in MPC are intended for loading of data from MOP to new MPC, when you replace MPC by new one. Also when you replace ID-key(in case of damage ), it is possible to program one.

By pass valve is not related about scavenge pressure or cold weather. it is completely ralated about EGR system (exhaust gas recirculation system) which is used exhaust gas return to scavenge air a proportinal amount.

Why to recirculate the exhaust gas for what reason? And exhaust gas have 340 degrees celcius you will recirculate so hot air inside engine back to scavengine where the limit is 55 degress celcius?

In the EGR system part of the exhaust gas - after a cooling and cleaning process - is redirected to the scavenge air receiver. The effect of this process is that a part of the oxygen in the scavenge air is replaced by CO2 from the combustion. The heat capacity of the scavenge air is hereby slightly increased and hence the tempera- ture peak of the combustion is reduced. Accordingly the amount of NOx generated in the combustion chamber is reduced

@@burakmayuk2643 that exhaust gas can be used from turbine side of turbocharger also, bypass not necessary for that.

Mr Burak Mayuk, probably you talking about other engine type, or other manufacturer . But man talking about MAN B&W, in this engine exhaust by-pass valve is passing exhaust gases bypassing T/C, directly to the boiler(if installed).
