We were ready to spend £90M on Paqueta who's 27, if you have to add £20M on that to get a generation talent like Wirtz who's only 20 then it's a no brainer. City missed out of Bellingham, I think they'll do everything to get Wirtz, you don't wanna miss out on too many of these wonderkids

Wirtz isn't generational😂and paqueta offers so much more to a pep team anyway,he can play in a variety of positions,as an 8,a box to box,a 10 and a winger,has insane workrate and would be a beast at counterpressing and is brilliant on the ball.he would suit the team overall more and in a variety of ways which is what pep likes,players who he can use in multiple different scenarios

@ShawnGitahi That may be true, but there's no doubt that Wirtz offers better value for money at that age, and he can be molded into anything, he's that talented. I like Paqueta, but £90M for him is insane! I always ask myself this question "how many people would pay £90M for Paqueta?" Probably only us, now how many would pay £110M for Wirtz? Probably 4-5 clubs, there's your answer

@@renzelkhamacho1379 Fair point, but about City’s well known aversion to sign players that are 9-figures, regardless of € or £? Personally, I don’t care and if a player is a great fit but costs a little more, it’s worth. What I don’t want to see is a repeat of last summer with Gvardiol and City hemming and hawing about a few million £ to make sure the cost was under the 9-figure mark. I think we spent way too much time trying to get a million discount at the expense of using some of that time to bring in another player or two instead of scrambling like we did. If I’m being honest, it would be great to get Wirtz (possible KDB replacement and share responsibility with Foden over time), Kimmich (Gundo replacement whi can cover for Rodri) and Paq (could be a solid replacement for Silva at least in a midfield capacity depending on your perspective).

There is a school of thought that City may be holding on to its large pile of transfer cash as a potential legal war chest - should the Premier League decide to double down on pressing charges. 🤦🏻‍♂️ . Re: Wirtz - he has certainly been near the top of my wishlist for a while, but agree that he is still very young. However if City are looking to wait until the Summer’25 before making a move for him, then that will coincide with Pep showing his longer term plans (again). Or are City possibly looking at a potential Xabi Alonso / Wirtz ’s double signing…😂

Would love Wirtz but City won’t sign him as he’s too expensive. Bayern L wanting €130m for him is too much. Even IF City were able to replicate the discount they got relative to RBL asking price for Gvardiol, it’s still puts Wirtz at nearly £100m and €111m+ and we know how much City don’t like spending triple-digits on a player after the years of flack they got for Grealish.

@@nitinpatel1039 I think you and I are in complete agreement regarding the bottled transfer window last summer and now seemingly the Jan one too. Signing academy players from overseas does not address the glaring issues we have currently The fact that we have no found any cover for Rodri, especially when we could’ve potentially tried for Kimmich in Jan is positively criminal. How is City board not seeing this? This season has proven unequivocally that we need suitable Rodri cover as we have a 100% loss rate when playing without him. And yet…they do nothing and some of our fanbase gets overexcited for KDB thinking we’re gonna win the league. I hope we do win the PL and the CL and even the FA, but not brining in a suitable cover for Rodri is not only a piss-poor attempt at risk mitigation, it makes me think the club isn’t quite as serious as they used to be. Remember, in the past, whenever there were glaring issues, they’d address it in Jan. We have one in Rodri cover and they’re doing nothing so far…

I don’t think Madrid makes sense because they’ve got their midfield sorted for the next decade and Bayern has musiala. We have foden in that cam spot but he’s very versatile and I think foden can even move back a bit when he matures and play next to rodri. Foden is good in can but I wouldn’t be surpsurprised if he becomes the new gundo because he’s understanding of the game this year has been very good this year because if you look at his numbers, he’s much more matured
