Merv is a wild, funny and creative cat. Her brain moves at a million miles an hour and she will help her owner, Chad, get up to mischief. Together they match each other's energy, talk to each other and now Merv has become Chad’s comedy partner. Merv was found abandoned in a park. She had bugs all over her and could barely walk. But when they adopted her, everything changed. She instantly fell in love with her new family and her crazy, wild and sassy personality grew from there.

How can any cat lover look at this and feel it’s normal? I feel sorry for this cat and don’t think its hissing and arching its back every time this ‘actor’ walks into a room says much about how well he treats it. It suggests that, off camera at least, it is subjected to some very silly, childish and immature treatment. When I was a kid I was a bit of an a**hole to my sister’s cat, and would play nice in front of others but then treat it very poorly when no one was watching. This cat reminds me exactly of how that cat would react to me. I regret that a lot.

@@FranklyFarcical - Lighten up Franky. Not every cat owner is you from the past. You can clearly see the cat voluntarily sitting near and even ON him when he's not holding it in place ( 2:48 ). If the cat was mistreated it would not voluntarily be anywhere near him. Some cats are just goofballs and I think this is one of them.

Yes! I love playing along with cats. With dogs, you have to be careful and can't rly give in to their alpha-domination threat gestures too much or this starts to promote very bad behaviors, etc... BUT i love how with cats, you can fully play emotional archetypal characters with one another. My little buddy may play a big bad predator while I play along as the frightened underlng or prey. Then, in trhe next second, I'm smothering her and demanding cuddles and she totally goes back to gentle mode. Then I'm whispering to her about taking a few birds down as we watch them outside and she's chattering back quietly as a co-conspirator. (This is why I feel like I'm prob closer to a cat than a dog. Dogs have that strange alpha, Machiavellian side to them where they test you and they;re just always socially sizing-up situations. They're regulated more purely by fear and reward. Cats have a little mystery in there. You try to manhandle them to put them in line and they just resist harder.)

Merv is pawsome! You make a great pair. Someone dumped a Siamese at our farm when I was a young teen. He had leukemia. My mom kept him going & gave him the best life possible with the time he had left. His name was Chipper because he was incredibly vocal as well. 🐾❤️🐾

Merv is a Tonk!! (Tonkinese cat, a breed that was developed from Siamese + Burmese cats 40 years ago, or so). Tonks are known for their personalities, and Merv definitely looks and acts like a Tonkinese kitty. She is wonderful, and it looks like she has the right humans in her life.

I'd say that Merv is a pure-bred, old-fashioned Siamese. There aren't a lot like that any more, certainly not in GB, where they've been bred to the extreme of satellite ears, long thin bodies and tails, and the eye problems that come with it. Nowadays they call old-fashioned cats like that Thai cats. Merv looks like a real Siamese, think The Incredible Journey, or That Darn Cat, films from the sixties.

Yeah - when we were little kids my mom said she wanted a Siamese kitten. Daddy, who grew up in the West and was a dog guy, said he didn't want any barn cats who killed mice. Well, the cat had daddy wrapped around her little paw in a few days. She adored him and he adored her. I have seen other self -professed dog guys just melt when they get their first kitten. ❤️🐈❤

My brother found a blue point Siamese in a parking lot of a supermarket. Her name was Samantha and she was my first cat. I had her for 12 years. She was very talkative and affectionate. Merv is hysterical and beautiful!❤ ❤❤

When I lost my kitty after 19 years last year, I was completely devastated. I couldn’t imagine getting another cat, but I missed the companionship and the wonderful feel of pettinging soft fur. So about three months later, I decided to foster cats. That way I could rehabilitate frightened animals one at a time and help them feel safe and ready to be adopted. Maybe you can try that. It’s a win-win!

What a great cat. I have two Siamese. One I recently lost to cancer and the other one is 8 years old and just learned how to be a cat. Chang was going to be 13 but was diagnosed with kidney and lung cancer. Was the best cat that we ever had. LilBit is 8 and lived in a house with 26 other cats. He is just now learning how to be a cat. All of our cats are rescue cats. We even be rescued 5 Manx mixed kittens that were living under the neighbors bay window. Two of those we kept and the other three went to good homes.

She’s gorgeous. I had a Siamese. My bathroom had a tub next to a shower stall. One day I walked in, Tasha was standing up on the thin, high EDGE of the stall, which wasn’t wide at all. She was balanced on practically nothing, it was one of those transparent glass showers. It was freakish to see her up there, I can’t image how she could jump from the tub edge below it up to the top of the thin shower siding and not fall before she could manage to stand up there. She’d also walk in a room and announce “Yang, yang, yang”! 😂.

Merv is lovely. She reminds me of my fur baby Xena who's been gone for 2 years now. I had her for 20 years and she was just like Merv, always doing things with me. She was always there wherever I went, happy to be by my side no matter what I was doing. These beautiful cats are blessings and precious gifts. They give so much, and then leave such a deep void when it's their time to go, yet they remain steadfastly part of us even in Spirit. Exactly. My uncle says he doesn't like cats, yet he still pets them, and if he had a cat who acted like a dog he'd probably love it.
