Crawling in the compressed tunnel, John was having trouble. The tunnel was getting too narrow to turn back, so he had to go onwards in hopes of getting unstuck. Unfortunately John never made it out. What went wrong? Let’s get into it.

This story breaks my heart. Him and his wife were visiting family to announce their pregnancy and he passed away. He didn't actually mean to go down that hole, it was an accident. Every other video I thought to myself why dont they do this or that. "No one was there to tell John descending into a cave head first isnt a good idea" You dont need to be a cave expert to know that.

Despite having seen this story already, it's still as horrible. This version also shines light on the many moments he could have made a different decision... nice touch for the aftermath

I agree with capping off Nutty Putty and putting the marker there in John's memory. It keeps the place sacred. Like hallowed ground.

I'm afraid of getting stuck under my bed. This is a fear I can't comprehend. I like to explore caves, even tho I don't live near any, but I always stick with tour groups.

I don't think one can put much weight on that's statistic at the end Because if a bunch of people with no regards for safety started cave diving, I think the statistics would show cars being safer Though with one big difference, your incompetence will only put yourself in danger and not a bunch of other people In this case I think the failure is more on the management of the divers with rules not strict enough (though the management in place probably prevented more deaths than if there were none) Can't even start imagining what if feels like for any of the people involved

I cant really think of many worse ways to go. Granted as a really big guy I'd probably get stuck somewhere towards the enterance.

definitely enjoyed the video now that it's back to the classic animation. Hoorah. Sad story though.

Reopening a dangerous cave system and not sealing at least the entrance to it forever should be considered a crime

Caving is one of them things I will never do, even with experts, it's proper nightmare fuel for me knowing that you're in a place like that where the only way out is the way you came in, assuming you can get out again...

The chance of injury and death rates are misleading. Less people go caving than driving. Of course the rates are lower relatively: there’s a minuscule sample size. If as many people went into caves as they did drive, the rates would be higher. Naturally.
