5:23 Probably no one is truly interested, but I am still going to explain a little anyway. The characters on the banner are Chinese. It switches between "執念" (means: lingering/insistence/obsessive thoughts) and "招魂" (means: calling back/ attracting sprites). The creator of this art mentioned this piece is related to one of the traditional Chinese Taoism rituals, "觀落陰" (it literally means observing the underworld). This ritual allows the living's souls to leave their bodies to visit the underworld /the netherworld and meet with the dead (usually passed family members and love ones). Noticeably, the girl is covering her eyes with a piece of red cloth, which is a vital step in this ritual.

Really appreciate you keeping your creepy videos lighthearted and filtering out the Too Creepy stuff. There were 2 things in this one that were a little too much for me, but your commentary helped. While I do think it would be creepier if there was no one in the swing but there was a reflection of a person, the idea of a person without a reflection gives me really cool vibes that i don’t think are creepy but more cool kinda like an SCP type thing like an anomalous person who looks perfectly normal but has a little quirk that isn’t normal or explainable, such as not having a reflection.

The False Hydra is one of the most terrifying creatures of ALL D&D. The creature is an ambush predator, uses mimicry to attract prey. Has a charming song that uses to erase the memories of it's prey from the people that hear it, perfectly erasing the evidence of the disappearing people. Eventually after eating enough it reaches maturity and finally develops it's song to mind control people and becomes a psionic behemoth capable of controlling armies of brainwashed slaves.

To answer your question, I think the second option about the swing is worse because that means a demon or something is on the loose. The first option kinda just implies there’s a spirit or something tied to the swing for whatever reason - maybe they had so many memories there, or something like that.

In regards to the swing/reflection inquiry, I agree with you Greg, it's way creepier to have something physically in our realm that is just not right, like not having a reflection. Something in a reflection is contained in the water, and unless that water can move on it's own (unlikely), you're fairly "safe" as long as you avoid the water. At least, that's my reasoning.
@AlottaBoulchit2 жыл бұрын
3:16 Those were characters from the 90s Nickelodeon cartoon "Ahhhh! Real Monsters!" I loved that cartoon and had toys from it as a kid. LOL The sculptures are more hideous looking than the actual cartoon characters but probably more fitting to what a real monster would look like. :b

09:30 D&D has things shoved in your face as "just enemies" that are major slasher villains in other media, Big Bads in Victorian gothics, and things they just blatantly stole from Lovecraft, and your characters have little to fear but the occasional lucky shot as they murder and loot their way through everything. It's hard to convey any horror at all in a typical D&D session.
