Try some pails/buckets outside with a can/bottle in middle with a wire for support. I used the metal Handel off bucket, just had to straighten it out and drill holes on either side of pail.. Put a bit of soapy water in pail and put peanut butter all way around on bottle to bait them. Put containers under trailer , if not, they will find their way inside.

Kinda late now since you're almost done, but I think I would have run a circular saw parallel to the joists, cutting the 2x4's off, leaving just the parts attached to the joists. (2" wide) Go underneath the remnants with an oscillating blade, cutting the screws off flush with the joists. Just a thought from a do it yourselfer.

I am from Manitoba. I've experienced heat during the summer and during a forest fire BUT Oh man you wouldn't believe what that heat was like. Im in Squamish BC and it go to 43c with high 80% humidity (squamish is next to ocean). Let me explain how it felt. Imagine putting on wet wool long johns and a wet wool long sleeve shirt. Now imagine sitting in a sauna for 12 hours. That's how it felt. You could not cool off unless you had a fan and dehumidifier on or drown yourself in a body in water.
