Very disturbing movie and it gets a little too visceral at times. Things seem so gritty and dirty. Christian Bale's performance and what he did to his body in the film is almost on the fringe of insanity. The Machinist is truly a hidden gem. When I heard about it, I thought it was going to be mind numbing. You know something is wrong and you start reevaluating on what's going on in the film. Definitely a film I recommend to everyone.

To eventually having full blown hallucinations and seeing and talking to people/creatures that were not there. I ended up calling an ambulance because I thought my invisible friend poisoned herself in front of me. And another time I called the cops because I thought people were going to break into my house and kill me. Long story short... I eventually walked to the hospital and told the Dr I was in psychosis. She didnt believe me... Until I started pacing up and down the hallways screaming at people that were not there. I stayed at the hospital for a few days where they gave me medication to sleep... But I was still hallucinating the first couple days and nights. It is very scary and seemed 100% real... I'm a minute into the recap and I'm sold, I think I'll have to watch the movie before I finish this video to spare myself from any more spoilers haha. Looks like a great movie, surprised I haven't seen it yet.

There is actually this condition called fatal familial insomnia which is a very rare genetic disease that causes progressively worse and worse insomnia until you completely loose your ability to sleep and it eventually causes death.

I read that Bale only ate 1 apple and a can of tuna daily to get down to that weight. It's crazy because right after this, he got in super good shape and packed on muscle for Batman Begins. He packed on like 50 lbs to play Dick Cheney a few years back. Dude is hardcore.

that’s all propaganda. He probably was sick with something then.

Movie recaps, after some time, here you present a great video called 'the machinist', with bale as one of his professional carreer. I liked the storyline and the end. Greetings to you, mate

I was unable to finish this movie, it was that disturbing. The work this Actor had to do both mentally and physically is beyond comprehension!!! Hopefully, one day I'll be able to see the whole movie❤

I've actually been tempted to dive myself into sleep deprivation, with this movie as inspiration. Although it seems too risky, especially for myself who already has health problems

bale is truly one of the greatest actors of all time. He take it so serious his acting that it makes me look insane sometimes, i remember watching him even when he was a kid in the movie Empire of the Sun even then he knew who to act good.
