The first item in the instructions for using the tool says “Fill out your total amount of healing power as shown in the in-game character pane.” Unfortunately, there is no “healing power” stat in my in-game character pane. One fun challenge for me as a DS warlock has been deciding whether sacrificing the succubus or the felhunter will provide more overall damage in a fight. Demonic Sacrifice isn't just a "+15% damage" button. I really do invite warlocks to do the math to figure out when it's more optimal to go for that enormous mp5 boost (which scales with int endlessly) instead, even if it sounds dumb. A good example is fighting Ragnaros: he has a giant HP pool, you're not always safe to life tap, and nor are you regularly given opportunities to life tap anyway without missing out on shadowbolts. The slower your raid is, the higher you progressively climb on the meters.

Great video! As a person who's new to Classic Shammy (originally a human warrior), I was really struck by the mana limitations of the class, and this helped me with ideas on how to get around it. That being said, what do you think of items that provide mana restore utility that arent consumable? Theres Circle of Flame, a life tap-like use head piece, that could likely be used for burst healing/dps since its on a 5min timer. I know its a v rare drop from BRD but it gets glossed over despite the ability. Theres also the Green Dragonscale set, which if you equip the entirety of, gives you a Meditation effect as a shammy. Would it be worth it to wear those pieces above others for those mana fixing abilities? I feel like on the low end, when you first start out raiding the pieces could be extremely useful, but by the time phase 3 rolls around, the effects will be outshined, what do you think about it?

Great video! I was wondering about another stat you didn't talk about considering dps/hps and EM: there are items with random enchants that give for ex. "+33 healing spells" or "+21 shadow spells". Do you know how these stats work exactly and how they compare to the conventional spell/healing power? Do they have coefficients too and how do they scale? Thanks for the thourough guide and visualization!
@DefcampMelderonTV4 жыл бұрын
Yup, I talked about them on the spell power slide. They only increase a specific school or healing
@MrX3rd4 жыл бұрын
@@DefcampMelderonTV thx for the answer. I see the stat you're talking about however I mean yet another stat, at least it has a different infobox on items. They don't have the usual "Increases damage done by ... by up to ...", they only read "+ 55 healing spells", an example would be the engineering green lens of healing or frozen wrath. Most importantly, the "increases BY UP TO" part misses on these stats, which makes me think they might have different coefficients than the other ones you talked about. Do you have any information on that or do you think they work the same as the ones shown on your slides?

So I'm figuring out the coefficient of spell power for some of my spells and noticed my talents influence the cast time. So in example my Lightning Bolt cast duration is 2 seconds. Does the coefficient change to 0.57 or is it still the initial 0.86?
@DefcampMelderonTV4 жыл бұрын
Talents that reduce cast time do not affect the coefficients. So it remains 0.857
@FFgamesftw4 жыл бұрын
I have a question for priests and spell co-efficient. If you get the 5/5 talent for divine fury which reduces the cast time of our heal & greater heal by 0.5sec. Do we calculate the spell coefficient based on the original 3 sec cast or the talented 2.5 sec cast?
@FFgamesftw4 жыл бұрын
Also as an additional follow up question. Set bonuses that change cast time like the priest T1 which reduces flash heal cast by 0.1sec. Would these change co-efficients?
@DefcampMelderonTV4 жыл бұрын
Any bonuses or talents that reduce cast time do not change the coefficients. Therefore, the benefits of these effects are HUGE :)

The math behind Reflection and Meditation talents seems a bit off. You say ~2 mana pr tick for each point of spirit. Well, buffed I have 300 spirit, but I'm not getting 600 mana pr tick back... :') wish I did though. For druids, your math appears to be (15+(1/5) )*0,15 = 2,28. However the reason that number is so high and misleading is because of the static 15 regardless of how much spirit one has. The correct answer could then be: (1/5)*0,15 = 0,03 mana each 2 seconds for each point of spirit. Another way to look at it is a lvl 60 druid has ~111 spirit (110 NE, 112 Tauren). So the base regen from Reflection is: (15+(111/5))*0,15 = 5,58 or *2,5 = ~14mp5, which is awesome! "Then" each point of spirit would increase each tick by 0,03 mana. Great guide and all, just wanted to point out this "misleading" detail.
@ElfosDeMordor4 жыл бұрын
This is not misleading, this is just plain wrong. The math is so off, that it is actually insane. At 25:45 he says that 1 point of spirit would yield 15 mana every 7 seconds (for a priest) after being 5 seconds without casting any spell, while the correct answer would be that 1 point of spirit would yield 15 mana after 120 seconds instead of 7. That's a difference of 1614%.
@ElfosDeMordor4 жыл бұрын
@gardakan936 15 + (spirit/5) means 5 points of spirit would equal 1 point of mana every 2 seconds, so every point of spirit is worth 0.2 mana every 2 seconds or 6 mana every minute. The mistake they did in this video was multiplying by 5 instead of dividing by 5
@ElfosDeMordor4 жыл бұрын
In the case of priest, multiplying by 4 instead of dividing by 4, arriving at a 1500% difference

@DefcampMelderonTV4 жыл бұрын
Not really. The tier sets are much better. For dungeons, you can drink so frequently, it's a non issue and MC fights are so quick, Spirit is not great for these classes
@trollzynisaacjohan17934 жыл бұрын
Drinks cost lots of money. Undead warlock has cannibalise and life tap. Priests can use low rank heals to manage mana better. Only really shadow priests (which sucked in pve before wrath anyway with no AOE until then), boomkin and ele shamans have really bad mana problems. But I refuse to buy drinks as a caster because it's just too expensive.

I read somewhere that mana regen from spirit is contingent on the ratio between intellect:spirit. That stacking spirit gives diminishing returns if you don't also add intellect. Not a big deal at end game given BiS itemisation but when leveling a priest I've always stacked huge amounts of spirit and it might not have been a good idea. Is this true?

Paladins do NOT gain 1% crit for 29,5 int. Its ~50+ int like most caster classes. It's something private servers have gotten wrong a loong time now. Generally speaking illumination is awesome but before AQ it's not worth gearing towards it. Before AQ +Heal > all as downranking is more helpful then any other stat in comparable attainable numbers and not downranking. Something nice to note, Paladins Illumination returns the base mana value, there are a few trinkets that lower the mana cost of spells resulting in even better mana gains as you get more mana back from a crit then you actually spend.
