When I was working the sales floor we would have bad leaks in the toy department when it rained. It got to the point that it was so bad that I would have to run and put up kiddy pools on the top stock to stop the leaks from ruining the items below it. I told management about this problem for months. One day it rained and the entire section of roof started to give out, the entire department looked like the sprinkler system was going off. SM was running around yelling and asking how no one knew about this problem. I told her that I had been telling management for months and she just looked at me like I was an idiot. Even when they do wrong they cannot own up to it.

I work at a retail store (not Walmart). We sell seconds. We got a new store manager in August and the manager before him let everything go to hell. We all told him from day 1 that we needed to get everything cleaned up and ready for the holidays. His response was that he worked retail management for 20 years and we would be ready. All of Sep goes by and nothing changed. Our backroom was just a mess. Our floor was not properly organized. Our Regional ( who used to be our manager) was not happy and the other store managers who were coming in to train this guy have mostly given up. I tried again even offering to come in extra to clean it up. He thought I was trying to get more hours and would not budge. Well here comes November and we have no where to put back stock because the back room is flooded with crap that now cant move because the floor is full and theres 2 trucks a day coming in the door. We are spending half our day putting boxed on top stock on the floor or pulling stuff down from backstock. Some days all I did was pull down stuff and put back up new stuff that needs to be stocked out. Worst holiday season ever. Well now its January and we have so many repacks its crazy. Inventory is 3 weeks away and the back stock from last year has not been touched yet. Again we all told him what needed to be done. Again he rebuffed us. Inventory time. We are not ready. The corporate inventory team that comes in every year was completely overwhelmed. Inventory was cancelled and rescheduled for two weeks later. They gave him an action sheet to be done each day to get ready. He posted it on the employee bulletin board and never delegated anybody to do anything so we just kept doing our regular jobs. Two weeks later we get inventory cancelled again. He then gets fired and they send in a crew of other store managers to get it all ready. He blamed everything on us saying we were lazy and did not want to do any work.

When I worked at Burbank airport (where there were no Jetbridges, and passengers walk on the tarmac to get to the planes), it was about a month before frontier airlines would start flights there, and I asked management how we would manage operations at a certain gate with them right there at a tight spot (gates are very small at Burbank) and that we would have overlapping passengers from different flights on the tarmac and they told me it's "not our problem" because another company had the contract to do ground handling for frontier airlines. Sure enough once they started operations it was absolute chaos, no one planned ahead on how to properly manage the busy and tight operations at the gates.
