This interviewer did a great job! He never interrupted Dr. Newson. He made relevant comments and asked good questions. It was interesting to learn a bit about how the medical system functions in England in terms of dealing with menopause.

If only these HRT and IMS doctors actually weren't so brainwashed and simple-minded about hormones....then maybe women wouldn't need to suffer as much as they do under such doctors and their propaganda pschophants.

I am 56 and am now menopausal. The 'peri' stage lasted probably at least ten years, in hindsight, and was a mess. I have had a number of issues since I was younger: slipped discs, painful joints, allergies, food allergies inc anaphylaxis, asthma, and they have all got much worse in the last couple of years. I am over-taken very quickly by anxiety and depression. When Dr. Newson talked about deep dark thoughts I started to cry as that is my life at the moment, especially since the 'pandemic' captured everyone's brains. It's a tiny relief just to hear someone talking about it. Whether or not I'll remember what I heard is another matter!

@@DrBenWebb I wouldn't mind knowing what ppl's experiences are of coming back OFF HRT. My doctor has prescribed hormone patches, but I haven't been able to get them yet as I came down with covid. She also discovered I have high BP (not high enough for meds) and I'm aso being treated for gastric ulcers. I'm in a mess lately! Also, it concerns me that oestrogen is on/off difficult to get and I had to wait 3 weeks for the prescription to get to the chemist. I don't like the idea of being unable to get my specific hormones at any time, and I wonder if, after a course, do ppl feel worse as the hormones are then withdrawn?

Anyone also had horrific side effects of taking Utrogestan? I've been unable to move due to losing my balance completely & the whole room going around in circles, together with horrific pain in both legs, together with headaches. I'm quitting HRT. Was healthy before this

What if a woman (or a man) wants to be tested and treated for the TOP 6 Hormones instead of just one or two hormones ? Guess the UK, the US and many countries just won't allow such a thing for the next 40 years. Thankfully there are a few hormonal clinics (mainly in the US) that will treat both men and women with more than just 2 hormones. FYI: TOP 3 HORMONES ( Pregnenolone, DHEA & Progesterone): NEXT 3 Hormones ( Testosterone, Nandrolone & Estradiol ).......Minor but important in some cases ( Estriol & Estrone ) FYI: Some very important nutrients which are often neglected are Zinc, Vit D3 and Vit K, B1 (in larger doses), B-complex, B12, Essential Fatty acids, Magnesium, Selenium, Iodine. FYI: Many people have liver stress so L-Glutathion Injections often helps and of course probiotics and gut health with higher levels of dietary fiber are very helpful for low hormones or hormone dysregulation.

OK, this was excellent but I want to know the following and it never gets discussed. 1. If we are living longer (Dr Louise has said this) due to science then why is it estrogen drops in the body so significantly to the point a woman cannot function? I find this astonishing as menopause is supposed to be natural and normal. It doesn't make sense. Because the reduction in estrogen makes sense yes , but not the level of reduction we currently see if the body's cells rely on estrogen (even if we are not supposed to live very long after the menopause). It makes me think is there something else causing the dramatic drop. 🤔 2. If we are not supposed to live very long after the menopause then why is their evidence that during the paleolithic era there are some who have lived beyond 47 years? So I othe words where is there the evidence we should be dying shortly after menopause? Can you share a good study? 3. How much does diet play a roll in terms of feeling better and why isn't it being discussed anywhere? I went 100% plant based and 90% whole food plant based unrelated to menopause and I felt so much better in general. I dread to think just how much mammalian hormones from meat and dairy, eggs and fish and even estrogen mimicking chemicals sprayed on fruit veg play a partin upsetting the bodies equilibrium. I read somewhere ages ago Dr Louise doesn't drink alcohol and consumes a vegan diet? Whether both of those are true I am not sure. 4. HRT obviously is safe and incredibly helpful and I take it but again the lack of estrogen is not the only reason women get Alzheimer's, Heart Disease, Osteoporosis and I feel that women could quite easily latch on to estrogen only being a panacea to reducing these problems when infact science is also pointing at our lifestyles and in particular diet. So unless that's communicated sufficiently then women could potentially only learn half the story. I find that equally negligent.

I didn’t get the impression from this video that Dr Louise is pro oestrogen to the exclusion of other needed hormones. She has also written a couple of books available on Amazon on menopause (she mentions one of them towards the end of the video) which also cover life style topics including diet and sleep etc that you may find helpful.

We live longer because of our technological, medical advancements. Biologically, our hunter/gather ways didn't cater the need for a 70 yr old person. While there are some evidence of our ancestors living beyond 47, that was only a small number. We are societal animals and we care for each other, we take care of others, but most people died young. Now we treat diseases. We have vaccines. Antibiotics, and we live longer past our ovaries 'used by date'. Now women can replace their hormones that our bodies don't produce at a certain time we call menopause.

Hello Dr. Newson, Im looking for a doctor to help me here in Ottawa, Canada. Do you know of a doctor that practices or is an expert in Bioidentical HRT? I’ve found some online naturopaths but don’t know if they are credible as I worry about the compound HRT that’s out there. I’m 54 years old and have had perimenopause symptoms for 2 years. For the past 9 months I haven’t had my period and my symptoms have gotten extremely worse and are reaking havoc on my body. Joint pain on my back & knee. My carpal tunnel is extreme and now I have trigger thumb on both hands which is caused by inflammation and an inability to bend my thumbs that are very painful and debilitating. I have insomnia, headaches, mood swings and the list goes on. Do you have guidance on where to get help in Ottawa, Canada?! Thank you for all that you do for women who are suffering silently.

I’m in Edmonton and Dr. Ron Brown is an amazing specialist. I’m not sure what he does in eastern Canada but his name might be a good place to start googling. Or even calling his offices here in Sherwood Park or St. Albert

No it’s not, but lack of estrogen increases the risk of diseases Like: osteoporosis (1 in 2 women get it as a consequence of estrogen deficiency) Estrogen reduces the risk of colorectal cancer. Estrogen reduces risk of type 2 diabetes. Estrogen also reduces the risk of vascular diseases. It also helps women to function both at home and at work like they used to when they produced estrogen by them selves. But of course it’s not a disease… 😉
