Rings are make of epoxy and fiber glass mix. Bows used are Military Yarha and Monarq. just testing them out. :)

Made a korean male thumbring a couple of years ago, been my go to ring ever since, its just nice for my thumb strength/pain threshold to not be the limiting factor in draw weight or how long I can shoot for.
@iyoo12 жыл бұрын
i agree. due to heavy bows and thumb being hurt, thmb was the main reason i couldn't shoot more than 2 hours or so. not i can shoot longer with less stress. :)

A relic was discovered in korea that suggests koreans used that design
@iyoo1 Жыл бұрын
yes, later i found koreans actually used this kind of rings in traditional archery. :)

Thats one of the reasons i love this style of bow, is that perfect arrow flight, along with a thumb release, it all just feels rewarding to see a perfect flight.

Cool idea! But I am wondering whether you are using the original Manchu ring correctly. I believe it should sit on your nuckle rather than below it and you are supposed to keep the thumb more or less straight or at least relaxed rather than actively bending it. This distributes the force better on the thumb and gives you a more comfortable feeling when opening the bow as well as a cleaner release.

thanks for the info. there is not many tutorials or articles i can read about how to use Manchu bow. i'm sure i'm not doing it right. would you able to make a video for others on how to use Manchu ring? especially with heavy bows. :)

@@iyoo1 Yeah, it's really tough to find good information. I also collected all I know (or believe to know) about how to use the Manchu ring piece by piece from different online sources plus lots of trial and error. I am still learning and probably still making too many errors, but I will try to make a video next week. Maybe you can comment then on what you think about it -- that would be much appreciated! I can shoot my 76# Yarha II with the method, which is the heaviest Manchu bow I have at the moment. I am still building up for higher draw weights. Actually, I took much inspiration from your videos -- so many thanks for sharing your archery journey!

@@alexandergebharter1810 that's great to hear. i'd love to see if you could share a video at some point :) at the moment this type of ring helps a lot with heavy bows. will be using this at least next few weeks and see. also, thanks for the kind words. means a lot to me. ^_^

@@iyoo1 OK, I tried to make a video about the Manchu thumb ring. It's not particularly well done (actually I haven't done this before), so sorry for the bad quality. Let me know what you think! --> kzbin.info/www/bejne/hoO7dJR3d9Skn9U

Great idea. Although it has nothing to do with Manchu rings.

Wait, the string is behind the ring right? And you still get a clean release with it sticking out like that?
@iyoo17 ай бұрын
it is a bit difficult to get a clean release. so i twist as i release. that seems to help a little bit. :)

Cool thumb ring. Are they for sale
@iyoo14 ай бұрын
no. but if you happen to live close i rather make a custom one.

This would be beneficial for me as I have joints problem, even though I shoot a relatively light bow. Any idea when this going to be on sale?
@iyoo12 жыл бұрын
i made this ring for myself. but you can look up 'korean male thumb ring' and can find something like this online. :)

I just got the yarha 2 from Alibow, its my first heavy weight bow. I'm just using the same leather tab I use for my smaller bow. Right now I'm working on strength before technique, any advice would be welcome.
@iyoo12 жыл бұрын
thank you. hope you like your bow. i love it. ;) i'm focusing a lot on shoulders, back, and release. most of them are same training over and over. it takes time to build up your body so be patient. :)
