Thank you for the explanations about how to wear and use the rings. It is essential information for ring beginners like me. I always appreciate the teaching you include in each video. Many thanks.

many rings, in plastic, horn, steel, leather, my thumb is 18 mm some habe 22, 22 mm and the shape, depth, it's very disapointing to choose you should made a comparison test (with all links) to help to make a choice !

How does it compare to other shallow hook rings from Alibow, like Fuhao and Custom Shallow Hook Painless? I want to try shallow hook rings but I'm afraid of safety. So I would appreciate if you could tell which one feels the safest for you?

Pretty cool thumb ring. I'm sorry if this is annoying Mr. Hirmer, but when will the shoot out for the Xerxes be done? I've been guessing in three weeks when I looked at the last giveaway and shootout dates.

my patrons should have one week to answer the question. shootout will be coming week :)

Surely the Ming and Manchu archers back in the day suffered from their thumb rings not fitting from one day to the next while in a war! How the heck did they draw their massive poundage bows with the fear that their ring might not fit that day? Or that it might fly off?! How do you fight with a thumb ring that BIG stuck onto your thumb when enemy soldiers close the distance? It sounds like such a hindrance to use over the long run.

Maybe they used two rings, one on the thumb and the other as a low friction arrow pass on their bow hand, able to switch over quickly depending on the circumstances. 🤷🏻♂️

@@johncuthbertson2565 there is the movie "camel caravan" (I believe), there they use 2 rings

U would have more than one ring with u. The reason why I believe the mongols and Egyptians used leather thumb protectors. No need to switch out your rings
@johncuthbertson25652 жыл бұрын
@@Daylon91 could it be relevant to the forces/poundages used as to comfy leather and hard bone/horn/stone etc 🤔

I always feel awkward with Manchu rings, these look far more like what I'm used to - thin brass one. 🙏

There are no survived Ming bow makers in China. lmao Even Chinese scholars said they don't have much Ming artefacts.
