at 4:47 it says you ended up moving this back, did you have to drill new holes? if so, how far did you move them?
@edwardbrown5614 жыл бұрын
You basically made it like epilogue's rim jig. Be careful, that pinch can sometimes be too much and the cup (mostly shot glasses) will torque and ride up the free wheels. Out of everything I've tried on this type of jig, the best is weight. But it can't move and roll around. If you shoot guns, many companies make sand bags for table rest. I had 8 different sizes made, lengths/diameter that I stuff into the cups. Works amazingly. I'm not your about your O ring material but keep them clean, preferably with alcohol and they will stay nice oil free and sticky How do you like your boss? I've always ran Epilogue and Trotec but have been thinking about a 1416 for educational purposes
@ManCrafting4 жыл бұрын
I have used that method myself, the only downside is having to continually move the weights for tumbler to tumbler. The new rotary I'm using is the new company making the upgrade kit. I haven't had any issues so far and I've tried a lot of styles. No shot glasses, but I will now. rotaryattachments.com/product... Enter ManCrafting as a coupon code for 5% off on your purchase As for the Boss... My advice would be to look at Aeonlaser.us I think you'll find it closer in quality to what you are used to for a price similar to Boss. Trotec and Epilog are the Ferrari and Porshe of lasers with a price to match. I have found the Aeon platform to be really nice with great pricing comparatively. They have something equivalent to the 1416.

I have the Boss rotary like the one you show. The problem I am having is on Yeti cups with the heavy handle. When the handle is close to horizontal the cup will roll back down and won't complete the rotation. Will this attachment prevent this.

Couple questions. How much of a pucker factor was it drilling in to your $800 rotary? :) Have you shared this add on with Boss Laser?
@ManCrafting6 жыл бұрын
It’s on the Boss Laser Owners Facebook Page and there are employees that pop in for advice. So I’m sure they are aware. If it was the first week, probably a lot more than owning it for 2 years. 🤣.
@designguyjared76486 жыл бұрын
I drilled into my $1500 Epilog rotary with no hesitation. lol My rotary has paid for itself so many times over the last year, I guess it didn't bother me. And yes, there is one particular Boss employee that highly recommends my mods. I don't think the company cares as much though, because the rotary they sell isn't their own. It's just a generic Chinese rotary that's used on other brands of lasers like Full Spectrum. I guess they could choose to package it up with their stuff, but that complicates the process for them.
@dangkolache6 жыл бұрын
Our epilog rotary came with the helper roller on the top but I'm going to have to look into the rest of these upgrades. I really wish epilog made a cone style like trotec does, I've been thinking about how I can convert or make an adapter or something for our rotary. Not sure if it's possible without being too tall.
@ManCrafting6 жыл бұрын
Garrett N Jared makes a kit specifically for the Epilog. That’s actually the laser he owns. If you go to the link in my description, it’s on the same Etsy page.
@designguyjared76486 жыл бұрын
Hey, Garrett! I originally designed this for my rotary that came with my Helix, as I have some pretty insane mods that I use on mine. I can certainly get you taken care of with these other parts. There is a company that makes a cone style upgrade for Epilogs. You can find them on ebay when you search for "Turbo Accelerator Epilog". I haven't done that upgrade yet because I'm convinced that this closed style nozzle is the reason so many other lasers have problems with the lens burning out. You would have to have extremely clean and dry air to keep particles from collecting on the lens, and it would make regular cleaning a bit more of a hassle.

look on E bay for a Unimig air filter if you are using a compressor to supply air. they dry and remove oil as well as removing other impurities.

@ManCrafting4 жыл бұрын
I spoke with the designer and he said he’s working on a 3rd rotary that is even lower. Something that would even work with a K40 style laser. I’m sure it would still require some mods to the bottom of the laser though.

@@ManCrafting I need the kit you showed in the video. Rotary Attachments says they don't make anything like what you show in your video and they don't know where you got it. I appreciate your time.
At time 10:51, the grey L-bracket on the left. Has that stopped the rotation? I would think if it's too tight you could run into an issue. Great DEMO though. I just finished testing the alignment of my first Laser cutter and have the same setup to test later on. Good accessories for it and the larger O-rings make sense.
@ManCrafting5 жыл бұрын
David Thompson the rotation stopped because the image was complete. The L should just be there to prevent drift. Definitely not tight.

Maggie Mata make sure you put a ruler to the circle. It may not be oblong. The curve of the cup can make it seem that way. I’ll have to look at my settings, but I know they were different on my 1416 and our 1630.
