I saw that you were at Jelutong Tower and was also walking along rifle range rd...there are a couple of other trails which would lead you to macritchie and Windsor (thomson road). Tree top's closed for now ...They are all connected. As close as you can get to nature in Sg and like you were saying ....a gd workout...

Coronation Plaza, used to be one of my hang out places when I was a student at Dunearn Sec back in the 80s. Time flies. The vegetarian restaurant upstairs serves pretty good food.

When you go on a hike, the fun is finding something different. I took the Mandai track, but took a different route. Its fun and exciting 👍

The popiah is expensive compared to the usual ones I had. But it does look bigger and also they are located in a rich people district. Long long time ago I used to go to coronation plaza to look at pirated games for Apple computer.

Just went to MacRitchie Reservoir today, on the way back home to BoonLay, aligned bus at Coronation Plaza to look for the Popiah. Today the Cosy Corner open but "No Popiah on Sunday", feel so disappointed, so that went upstair to buy another Popiah, it's call AnnChin 安珍薄餅, not bad, also nice to eat.

I have tried潤餅 from a push kiosk stall at Kaohsiung before. Thinking it will be like a snack like Singapore's popiah, I was soooo wrong. OMG, the潤餅 was very thick and big which ended up as a filling meal instead... I cannot really remember the taste of the 潤餅 already to be honest, but Singapore's popiah will be laced with garlic chili and sweet dark sauce which I think probably won't be in Taiwan's 潤餅? Actually I know some popiah places in Singapore will use egg omelette, fried tofu and add prawn. But traditionally I do not recall any meat though.

if you wonder off trail, you can actually see actual soldiers doing field practice, mandai is a great place for military exercise.

There are also some old trails in Chestnut Park that are only known to some. Those are the better trails.
I saw a king cobra around 1.8m long along the trail at chestnut nature park. Do be extra careful with the surrounding at singapore nature reserve areas.
@AsiaHikelopedia4 жыл бұрын
I actually go there looking for snakes and stuff. Haven't seen a king cobra yet!

Popian, 薄餅?發音?
@AsiaHikelopedia4 жыл бұрын
I read that "poh-pia" (薄餅) is from a Teochew dialect, but I'm no expert.
I'm surprised to see cyclists riding on the same trail as you. For obvious safety reasons, there are separate trails for hikers and cyclists in this park.
