Mandy, your family is just a blessing to watch. I'm from the "older generation". Seldom used a recipe, except for baking. I'm from "scratch town". I've loved your recipes! So do my men. One of the hardest parts of ADULTING, is coming up with “what's for dinner tonight?" We've been married for 53 years. That's a LOT of dinners. 2 received a Crock-Pot/slow cooker as a wedding present. Seldom ever used it. I now have a newer addition, and YOU taught me what to do with it. Oh, the time I could have saved when I was still working. Love you all, And your Christian values.

Nooooooooo, never put oil in the water for the pasta! 😮 the oil will prevent any sauces to ‘stick’ or ‘absorb’ to the pasta! Put a wooden spoon over the pot while the pasta is cooking, that will prevent the boil over 🙂. Also, you’re supposed to put a very generous amount of salt into the water as well. 💜🌸💜 greetings from Florida!
@suewolf3279Ай бұрын
Correct, do not add oil to the boiling water for pasta. I am a New Yorker, and adding oil will prevent your sauce, whichever kind of sauce you may be using, from adhering to your pasta. Which is why you never rinse your pasta when you are making a hot Italian Dish. You need the starch
@Estranged18011 ай бұрын
T.B.D. = Tonight's Best Dinner. Also, most times when you're about to use one of those Italian dressings, I've found that going for the Tuscan House Italian dressing holds up better, because once you shake it, it takes awhile to separate, and holds other things in suspension a little better (like pesto, for instance)

I like plates with sections so that my food doesn't touch. Some things I don't mind, like if my roll touches my ham or something like that. But I don't want my roll touching beans or my mashed potatoes to touch my corn or whatever. I have sectioned plates at home, of course, and my mama has some for me at her house and so does my mother-in-law. And if it's a big family gathering we usually have throw away sectioned plates anyway so it's not a problem. Not that I would complain or make a big deal if there wasn't sectioned plates because I would never do that. I'd just do the best I could keeping my food separated.😊🍽🍱 Sometimes when I see y'all (or anyone else) on KZbin fixing a plate of food, I'm thinking "Oh no! Your green beans (or whatever) are going to touch your mac & cheese (or whatever)! 🤪 I know this probably seems random but when Steven was talking about his Grandpa's bowl of food all mixed together, I was thinking NOPE! Not me! And a quick question.........for the brown rice, what kind of rice do you use? I'm assuming NOT Minute rice?

Two years ago I started to chop up (using the same chopper that you have, lol) onions, green and red peppers, celery and carrots and put individually in zip lock bags in my freezer. I usually do 6 or 8 of each: onions and peppers, a large bag of celery and carrots. I will usually do one veggie on a slow afternoon.
