Go watch Julissa Guillen if you haven't already. She has SO many videos for hot tools. It's like 80% of her content at least. And she has a ton of comparison videos like Dyson vs Shark and has a lot of videos for some tools that I can't find other reviews for.

I do appreciate that you let us know what's not necessary when doing these tool reviews. So many times people are saying "you have to get this" when it's not. It's okay if something is a want but not everything is a need. Also the accessibility aspect, 100% agree. Lastly... Anyone else felt like they needed to give Mell some privacy during that Mindflayer Scalp Massager part?

I good laugh today! Luv ya Mel! 😂😂😂. And btw, I have an actual blow dryer stand I’ve had for probably 12 years and 2 things, I had to add a workout weight to the base to keep it from falling over. And, mine is not tall enough so I put it on a foot stool or a side table. I might try a microphone stand if I ever replace it. Also, I wrap a strip of Velcro to mine so it’s a quick wrap around the handle to make sure that investment of a dryer never hits the floor. My tip for the day. Later!

A video just came up as a youtube suggestion for a brush I hadn't seen before that I would love to see compared to the bounce curl. It's a scrunch it large clumps brush. It looks like it's been around a while but they just changed it (I'm guessing because of bounce curl). I'm hesitant towards the bounce curl because of the size and you mentioned how much tension it uses. It would be okay at the top of my hair but my lower nape hair is already really tight and I have to use almost no tension with the denmen brush to try and even things out.

I cut my thick, coarse, wavy hair to less than half your length and it has been waking up mostly straight yet standing on end (kinda has a 1980s hair-sprayed vibe without needing any hair spray). As such, I am currently needing hair tools because I do have to coax it down from its heights into a gentle wave every morning. Perhaps it needs to be intimidated with that medieval "morning star" look-alike...🤣

Just ordered your lo-fi OG head scratcher (went for the 36 finger model though). Your hair had great looking crown volume after you used it which is an ongoing quest and a couple of the reviews also mentioned some curly volume so we'll see. Think I'm going to also give it a try at night before bed as well as styling after seeing you nodding off.

I have wavy NOT curly hair and the medieval round brush is the best tool for me to create rolled curls. Ribbon/brush stealing just doesn’t make my hair pop like it does Mell’s. So while I luv Mell’s videos and advice I have to always keep in mind that just bc it doesn’t work for her doesn’t mean it won’t work for me. 😊. Also, I have the unbrush for my daughter’s long, tangled hair and it really isn’t that great for some reason. I guess another example of different gadgets work differently for different people 🙃

Hi Mel. I love everything you teach us but I have one question to see if you can help us curly hair women who are "going gray" first time. Anny ideas how to keep it healthy during growout and transition time? And what about shampoos? Since you yourself have gorgeous curly hair and had said yoj had some grays' you may be able to answer this wuestion. Im hust starting my journey fonally and want to take care of my curls in the process. I am going to cut my hair maybe 2" now as im going into my 2 months growth. My hair feels thinner or drier. I think its because as you mentioned about too much wTer and bond products. I dont like the texture now. Its been so pretty snd healthy now looks terrible and wont hold curls. I hope this doesnt affect my growout so this is a question that i didnt find much help for curly dilver hair ladies or support groups. Thank you Mel! Love and a big hug❤

Question! I've been so lost in my hair journey. My hair is probably a mixture of 2b and 2c, dense, some strands are thick, most normal. I swear pregnancy hormones made it all wacky. Its never been colored or bleached but probably has ponytail trained damage. Most times I don't apply any styling products because it gets weighed down easy and I don't find it worth the effort when it results in the same exact shape on day 2 as it would if air dried. It does however knot really easily underneath. Should I be dry brushing my confused type 2 wavy hair at all? That unbrush looked amazingly easy.
