Manfrotto MVG300XM Modular Gimbal Review - It Has Magic Powers!

This is apparently back on sale at B&H for $169.88 (hence the video search) but I've seen reviews that praise this product as being amazing and also reviews that detail specific product failures such as the battery and the on and off switch. Not sure if you kept this Gimbal after the review but do you have a long term opinion of this Gimbal?

I actually gave it to a friend of mine so no I don't have a really long term use case. I have also seen in the comments section here that a lot of people have had issues with it though, but It worked really well for me when I used it...

@@benldr In Crane M3 you cannot control ANYTHING, so instead small tripod I using Sony sooting grip and like it. Did check cameras working with this Manfrotto and my cam in their list...(Sony ZV-E10)

That is awesome. I’d be real interested in how this can be used by one person to make YT videos of themselves - ie, replace a videographer - well, partially. For what it can do, that’s not a bad price

Well that one sequence you saw was done by just myself and you could control the gimbal remotely, to track yourself, but that would be pretty tuff. You can change the direction of the joystick though, so when you are in front of the camera left will be left which is awesome and should make that task easier.

It's called Inception Mode on this unit and it's in the Scenario's area. Be careful though because the gimbal shifts a lot when you enable that as the camera/lens aim straight up in relation to the gimbal's normal position. I will cover that for sure in the next video!

I actually JUST picked one of these up on Amazon a few days ago. Unboxed it and it's beautiful, but the instruction manual is pretty useless aside from getting it balanced, lol. So I'll definitely be frequenting your channel for more gimbal content. Thanks!

I would get a DJI model over this, because firmware support and overall support for this product is not up to normal Manfrotto standards in my opinion, although I do think it's an awesome gimbal in a lot of ways..

Hi all, does anyone working with this gimbal? I bought it but not sure if keeping it will be beneficial as I heard it is missing the focus motor? I own a fuji XT4...Surprisingly, manfrotto offer a focus motor for the models 220 and 460..but not for the 300!! Why?

Hi Jason, I was trying to upgrade the firmware. After many hours of upgrade it only reached 8% of upgrade. very disappointing. Also the Gimbal continuously moves by itself

Make sure your phone that you are using for the update does not go into sleep mode during update! That might be your issue....

Hi Jason, how far is the range of the remote on that gimbal? Is it connected through wifi or bluetooth?

Bluetooth as far as I can tell. Range I am not sure about yet, I only got about 20 feet away and it still worked though. I will test the distance limitations and address that in my fallow up How-to use video coming soon...
