The adventure continues: To stand a chance against Bern’s army, Hector’s daughter lead our sword-hating lord to the resting place of Durandal, a legendary… sword… Durandal belonged to the hero Roland who used it during the Scouring. It probably was not expecting to be awaken so soon again since Elliwood used it to thwart the Mad mage of the Dread Isle. Yet here the group was, yet before claiming Durandal they needed to clear the bandits resinding there. The group cut through the bandits and with flying aid circled some of them to slash them up. The bandits were defeated and so our group claimed the legendary sword. Before long, Narcian and his wyvern riders arrived at Ostia ready to slay the Lycian remnants who still dared to stand against him, however the army of Etruria descended on them ready to aid the Lycian league, forcing not-Jumb to retreat. The Lycian league had a moment of peace, with Bern ceasing agression for a time. A new Lycian Army made out of this weird bunch was created. After a peacefull time Etruria reached to Lycia asking for help ridding the Western Isles of banditry. The new Lycian army marched to another adventure towards the Western Isles, where mist and bloodthirsty bandits greeted them. These bandits, like the others before, broke before the group’s arms. An archer with a strange bow contraption appeared to help the bandits but, having our bird killing ninja soldier sparred with him, she clarified to him he was tricked by the bandits into service. Somehow, THE Lord and Saviour of Fire Emblem himself was also there helping the bandits and joined our merry group to sue Scott of his false advertisement. Unfortunaly our Phrean Nomad met his end by the hand of a lucky group of blackguards while the remaining miscreating were defeat without trouble and their leader Scott was sued (i.e. shocked and burned) until non-life. To find out more about, the Lycian army decided to head to Eburacum, however on their way there, treachery striked as the lord of castle Armagh, Sir Nord ordered his soldiers to wipe the Lycian army. A vision of tragedy: the retainer of Guinivere, and the great warrior’s sweetheart dead by a mercenary blade, haunted our brutish lord, a signal to be careful with the battle unfolding. Just before the battle the guy that dresses like a cleric reached a new power, and cloth style, thanks to a guiding Ring. After the first clash, a misterious masked mage, with a name that contrasts with his weapon of choice, left the village and lent his tome to our group’s efforts as he wanted to avenge his comrades. Sir Nord questionably ordered a Troubadour to lay waste on that village as the second clash comenced, it maybe being why the Ostian princess managed to recruit this very lucky troubadour. The doomful vision realized itself as Nord’s last reinforcements slew Jumb’s sweetheart. Powered by vengeful fury, our greatest fighter ascended to new heights of power and turned Nord into a pin-cushion. Now our group is to find the leader of the resistance as this sinistre plot unwinds. Death still lingers and won’t leave soon, yet who will it haunt over next time? Who will ready their blade for our lord? Will Jumb’s heart mend with a new owner or shall it be forever consumed in grief? Find out next time on Fire Emblem Binding Axe!!!

4:58:26 Vestaria Saga does have ambush spawns, but not in every chapter. The game usually let's you know by either letting them spawn right after a turn where you can save or sometimes the game even outright tells you it has ambush spawns before the chapter starts. The only chapter that I remember where the ambush spawns are BS is chapter 20, where they are infinite and some of them can't be body blocked unless you have a unit that can tank. The funniest part was that when people complained about chapter 20, Kaga just told them to git gud.

I don't know why he's avoiding this Kaga gem. If resetting is an issue, you can quickly reset by pressing F12. That way you won't have 5-10 minutes of downtime.

Dsnot can hit the 1% crit, coin wins every 50% coinflip hits, Jumb dodges a 75% killing blow, but in all timeline and resets, Angelina always dies. Ngl i can never stand waifu dying in any game and would've reset right away, but your stance with the integrity of the game at least brings forth a bit of closure and serenity, Mangs. And this PMU run has been an enjoyable rollercoaster, hope Jumb will end up a happy man.

To answer your question about ambush reinforcements in Vestaria Saga, there are some but you are either warned about them or they are in places where you shouldn't be in the first place. The only time I remember when they can fuck you over with no warning in chapter 8. They can also do it in chapter 14 but Kaga warns you to stay away from the edges of the map at the start of the chapter (plus, they only come every 2 turns so you can plan for them.).

On the topic of early promoting vs promoting at 20, I'm neither, I prefer to promote at 15 because that's around the point exp gains start to slow down so promoting at that point to me feels like early promoting but with the extra stats that come from 5 more levels gained at a decent pace. Promoting at 10 feels like a loss of exp opportunity, promoting at 20 is difficult for certain units. My Florina that promoted at 15 was a shit ton better than when I promoted at 20, and I'm confident she would also be better than if promoted at 10 (because that's robbing her of 5 more levels due to poor exp gains when early promoted).
