The points you are making are absolutely excellent ones. As a music industry executive I have to hold myself to a much higher level then anyone else, because I also represent bands from around the world. But I'm also a model AND I guess you guys are calling it media influencer, I call it internet personality. I have four channels of my own & I quite often get requests for makeup tutorials, but I will NOT, I absolutely REFUSE promote or work for 1 makeup brand only. Even in each tutorial I make sure I use several different brands at a time, so that people see that I am not being preferential to one brand only. I think THAT becomes a very slippery slope. For instance, when I do a tutorial I could use bareMinerals as my base, Kat Von D for my eyes, and MAC for my lips. Even Jeffree Starr who is absolutely AMAZING, has his OWN absolutely FANTASTIC line goes through & does reviews of MANY different brands, he's EXTREMELY honest to the point where he's made some enemies & lost some friends- which is awful and uncalled for! When someone says the truth, if you can't handle the truth there's something wrong with YOU, NOT the person speaking the truth! But I digress, this whole thing with demonetization is getting out of control! AND this whole thing with certain media influencers going through certain makeup companies & trying to control their products, what is said, & who is talking about them etc etc is all getting way out of control too! It's turning into a bitch fight woof! There's going to be a line drawn in the sand with all of us, & I'm afraid a couple of these sisters don't know who they have lobbed warning shots to, because I for one won't back down in defending my sister's and SISTAS! People deserve to hear HONEST reviews!

Beauty gurus review products from the companies that they are affiliated with all the time. Whereas it should be a common sense thing to not do because of conflict of interest. But i guess if the youtuber discloses it, then the audience/consumer should be smart enough to judge the authenticity of the review based on the KZbinr's character even if s/he is afiliated with that company. In this case, Manny has been problematic with Morphe in the sense that they are too close to be unbiased.
