It's not like the genocide run itself is heartbreaking enough at this point in the game...Seriously, everytime I listen to this, I cry. It shows that Papyrus is not a self-centered idiot or always cheerful...this shows that he is much more than this. He is a friendly, optimistic person who tries to make everyone feel better with themselves. That he is a truly kind, innocent soul...and also with your Megalovania! Dudes, you put all the character perfectly in scene. Toriel, ompletely heart broken, realizing that not all humans are good. Papyrus that he is the true innocent soul in the game. you showed that Undyne is a true hero who wants to protect all the innocents and friends. MTT that he is not a narcistic guy, he wants to protect his loved ones! Alphys that she is not an awkward coward but a great, helpful scientist! And Sans...that he is not calm and just lazy...you showed everyone that he got his soul full of anger, revenge, sorrow and determination! You showed all this and I love your work. Both your pacifist and genocide musicals are just...beauties. They awaken so many emotions and I always got goosebumps all over my body. I freaking love this game already and you guys made me love it just much more!

This is why I'm glad they did the genocide route. As heartbreaking as it is, it shows some of the best aspects of the monsters. Papyrus isn't a a cheerful narcissist, he is a truly kind soul that believes no one is beyond saving/compassion. It shows undyne as a True Hero, and not just as a hot head trying to murder a little kid. Even if it's sad, it a story worth sharing.

I've gotta say, the moment you murder Papyrus in Genocide Run effectively marks the point where you are beyond redemption. Killing your mother figure that wanted what's best for you wasn't enough, you just had to off the most innocent and pure soul in the Underground. You had to slaughter the one thing that motivates Sans anymore. The worst thing Paps ever did to you was make you go through easy puzzles, and even with his dying breath, he still believes that you can be a better person. You deserve each and every thrashing that Undyne and Sans give you. This game, man...

Since I'm Undertale trash and can't get the game off of my mind, I was talking about it to a friend of mine,p. She said her cousin loves UT and everything about it. I told her how I thought about it and she was like "Wow, that's deep." What I said was: In Undertale, you may be playing a game. Every in-game *RESET* is like every other game, right? You die to an enemy, you reload where you last saved and nothing is wrong, everything is fine, right? No. While you think you're playing a game, you're playing with their lives. You're traveling through time over and over and over again. And they don't know you are, they just have small blips if Dejà Vu.

That voice for Papyrus was actually really good ,it was So calm and soothing to the ears, I didn’t think he’d be that great of a singer, but I guess I prefer a more gentler tone for him. The No Mercy run was really something else, if you played Pacifist to already know these characters and see them like this and be victim to what we do to them, just hits you in that spot you know. oh man. I hated this part of the genocide run. Papyrus is such a nice character and even when he is betrayed, he still wants you to be a good person. Ugh. My heart. I've heard a lot of people call Mettaton Neo the point of no return. I think its Papyrus. When you kill Papyrus, you not only kill another truly helpful character, you kill the last one. Everyone afterwards is determined to stop you. Papyrus simply wanted to help you, and when you kill him, you effectively show the game you decided you aren't worth saving anymore.

In the Pacifist route, all of Papyrus's songs are so full of energy, and are so bouncy, lively, and fast. (I mean, has anyone tried to sing along and nearly die in the process? XP) While this song hits me right in the heart, there's one thing I must say I really REALLY like about the song. The soothing, near lullaby tones that Papyrus is singing. He's usually so vibrant (which I do love) but this--just--the fact that I now have proof of him singing like this makes me so happy. More in a stand point of: "Oh my gosh, think of Pacifist Route Papyrus singing to Frisk to get them to sleep." And I'm ever so slightly a sucker for guardian/child bonds, sooo... And I'm ever so slightly biased with Papyrus being my favorite character. (You have done him justice, I adore every moment he is here but now--and now----- Q=Q *quiet whimpering* ) It's just...beautiful to hear this different...aura(? energy? ...magic?) come out of Papyrus. This is truly one the most heartbreaking pieces you guys have made. If this was in the game then surely only the truly soulless would actually continue with the genocide run. Not only is the song itself beautiful, courtesy of Darby's perfect performance as Papyrus, but Sym's art is just fantastic too. Frisk's little smirk and the visible dust on their knife hand creates such an unnerving effect which only adds to the dark atmosphere and the sequence showing Papyrus' death is just brutal.

Aware that I’m a year late, but I just want to say Congrats. I won’t lie, in the original Musical I wasn’t fond of Papyrus’ voice, but this song has become one of my favorites. I love how Darby doesn’t try to exaggerate the voice too much. It’s like a lullaby and tells the story really well. It’s sort of like the character’s persona was dropped to make it a serious moment. You can hear the nervousness in his voice. It’s also great singing from him. Great job and wish the cast and crew well. 👍🏻

Ow. Another one I could only stand to listen to once in the scratch track. The use of the Geno version of Snowy was a really great choice. Darby's standard Papyrus rant at the start and frustration at Frisk's antics made me grin, it feels so nostalgic. Then he just faded into this gentle, calming tone. The warmth of his voice is at such odds with the discordant tone of the music, even at its most calming is off-putting for the audience. I love how the lyrics include Papyrus calling Frisk freakin' weird for not liking puzzles-- they do such a good job of capturing Papyrus' voice and little bit of humor even in such a tense situation. The way Papyrus gently seems to guide Frisk through the song is just... man. Darby knocked this one of out of the park, he really does make Papyrus sound like he's just trying to gently correct a child. Which is how he should sound, but. Man. The hopeful excitement when he thinks Frisk is offering a hug, the way he sells how completely committed Papyrus is to that spare. There is no doubt in Papyrus' mind that he's succeeded and that's what's truly heartbreaking. That gasp of pain when he's hurt, the gasps and little hitches of his breath when he's dying, the way his voice shakes... geez, way to hammer home Papyrus' death the way nothing else ever has. I love the delivery of "I believe in you!", there's such surprising strength to that line. Like you KNOW he's hurting but he just. With his last breath he's trying so hard to give Frisk the strength to make the right decision, that "I-I Promise".... ugh and the way it's cut off that with that absolutely sickening crunch. Ow. Owowowowow. The art in this one really helped drive everything home. Honestly my favorite shot is Frisk standing with the dust blowing away, the dust cloud is very dynamic. Frisk's face just seems so dead and all the dust smeared everywhere adds so much and then Papyrus' poor sad face when he's laying there in the snow. The muted color palettes do a lot here, just some amazing work from Sym. Amazing job as always, guys. Can't wait to see what comes next.

Damn. I knew it was coming and that cut-off was still jarring. I could feel his optimism, even in what's normally a somber tune. And to think, there's a timeline where this apparently works, for the time being, anyway. Alas, those don't mean much, apparently. You'll come back eventually. With renewed Determination.
