@@ethekwini-os9tb I'm an Ethiopian millennial born and raised in Europe, and I've invested quite heavily in 1-3 bedroom properties across Nairobi, Kilimani, Kileleshwa, Parklands, and Upper Hill. I'm also diversifying by focusing on land acquisition in upcoming areas in Rwanda, Kigali, like Bugesera, close to the new airport. I'm not a real estate guy, just placing my disposable income where I think it will grow, and I would say that Cape Town in South Africa has the best and most sophisticated architecture in Africa, akin to what we are used to here in Norway, the UK, and North America. But I would never say that Johannesburg is in any way better than New York City, the epicenter of the world for the past 100 years and basically the equivalent of what Rome was during the Roman Empire. To put things in perspective, New York City's economy alone, with a GDP of over $1.5 trillion, is larger than the combined GDP of South Africa, Kenya, Rwanda, and Nigeria. Let's not be provincial in our mindset or push our insecurities to ridiculous levels or feel inferior because we are not yet on top of the world. I have no issue, as an Ethiopian with love for my country and plans to start investing there soon, acknowledging that we face multiple challenges at all levels of society, governance, and even the basics. Let's be realistic, hardworking, and united across the continent, and start building little by little. In 50-80 years time we could potentially have surpassed some of the major cities in the western hemisphere. Rome wasn't built in a day
