It's so nice to hear this perspective instead of just the usual "red flags" to look out for! Sending this to my brother and other single guy friends who keep asking me to '"find them a wife" -- even some of my husband's friends who ask "do you have any single friends?" ..... it's really hard to know what to say because yes, I do - and yes, those women also want to be introduced to marriage-minded quality men, but they're really intentional about living their faith and while all of these men truly want to be husbands and fathers and start a family but they're not strong in their faith ... and I don't think anyone should compromise on that - would love a video on that!

I love the masculine. I love what men have to offer. However I do not have an appreciation for my abusive narcissistic father. I do understand it’s good to look for a woman who has a healthy relationship with her father but it shouldn’t be a deal breaker. Having strong boundaries to that kind of relationship is the “green flag”. Especially if she conscious of how it’s affected her and made an effort to heal. She’s “closely connected to family” this list does not give credit to those who have healed from toxic family situations and set boundaries.

Exactly, I think there's probably less than 10% of women out there who actually had a good father/daughter relationship so by putting that as a condition (one she had literally no power over at any point) they are just making sure they will probably never find "the one":)) which may be better actually, singlehood isn't that bad

This point really is problematic I think. As a woman, you can select your friends, but you cannot select your father. If you have had no luck with your dad, it is not your fault at all and does not say anything about your value as a woman! Also, like the experience you mentioned: what looks like a "great relationship" and great closeness from the outside, can in reality be enmeshed, toxic, abusive etc. !

Just remember why many women dislike men, and look at how badly women have been treated all throughout history. Be the good guy who shows a woman that masculinity respects femininity and uplifts and genuinely likes women (not just in a sexual way) and does not put women down. As for the father part, well, many people have had fathers that are not so great, so don't hold it against a woman if she doesn't have a great relationship with her father.

I like what you have to say. I feel like I'm learning. Thank you. I just want to say that some of us didn't have fathers that stuck around. That doesn't mean that we can't appreciate the masculine. I can and do you see the value in having man in my life. That being said I'm also an independent woman because that's the way my life is turned out. I made some bad choices in the past in men and so I'm doing it on my own. I guess you said that women want men that are high earners. That doesn't seem really that important to me. However I don't want to have to carry someone. As a single mother I'm already caring for a family on my own financially for the most part. There are things that men can do for me that I cannot do for myself. However those things have very little to do with physical sustenance. Sometimes we're forced to be independent women either by circumstance or own choices or both. I think a woman who has done the work, in other words is emotionally intelligent recognizes that masculine energy compliments feminine energy. This idea that is in opposition to feminine energy is toxic masculinity. I love and appreciate gentle protection. I like to feel vulnerable and small in my man's arms. I think nice guys deserve a chance. I think short guys deserve a chance. However that being said I'm a chubby woman and I seem to attract a lot of players always have even when I was thin. So I've decided to take a break from dating and now I'm on KZbin looking for videos. I need to do some growing and work on myself. Not just physically because no matter how little I eat I'm always going to be thick, but also emotionally, because the reality is I'm calling the type of men to me and I need to figure out why. It's either full on commitment right away which scares me or guys that just want to get laid. I have higher standards than that. Stuck between a rock and a hard place. Your videos are much appreciated thank you

I agree as a man, I think the biggest point is someone who respects other men. One thing I had to deal with with my fiance is her dad is alcoholic and her mom bosses her dad around, while she was showing that behavior to me I won't put up with it. These are basically traits that define an adult... The basic motto for me is that you should be building yourself well both physically and mentally first and then the person that you share your life, your dreams with should be such an adult in character that she/he will appreciate those values and share theirs' with you.. And then that would actually be the way to building up a future together as a whole..

Okay, so as a woman who has had a very difficult relationship with her father, im afraid that men are going to see your video and jump to the conclusion that any girl with daddy issues is not worth dating at all. I really hoped you would atleast mention that there are women willing to address their issues and are going to therapy etc. Rest are wonderful, but this one definitely, i would want you to speak on more, because the nature of a relationship with a parent is not exactly something that we can control. We can CHOOSE to manage its affects. Similiarly, i can't just ask a man on a date what his relationship is like with his mom, and if the answer turns out to be anything negative, write them off as low value men. Isn't that judgemental and presumptuous?

I'm going to write a fairly long reply, I hope that you read it all, and can respond if you agree or disagree. I think you're misunderstanding slightly. He's mentioning these as rules of thumb, not extremely specific rules that you are required to follow. As the other commenter mentioned, within the dating market, it is generally better to be safe than sorry. Especially when it comes to something so important that will impact the rest of your life and rest of the other person's life. These decisions can't be made easily, as they hold an extreme amount of weight. I understand that you've had issues with your relationship with your father. Of course I don't know to what extent - as a young adult male (I don't think I quite qualify as a man yet - still working on that, that's why I watch these videos :)) - I've had a bit of a rocky relationship with my own father. We have quite different views on certain topics, and that has really put a strain on our relationship for a number of years. Yet regardless of this, we were able to make amends and now our relationship is great. The main point in the video isn't "any woman that has ever had any issues with their father or rather parents in general, completely avoid them like the plague", I think rather it's from a standpoint of "Don't be pursuing someone who actively - at this exact point in time - has issues that they aren't able to resolve or aren't attempting to address". If you are already working on that by going to therapy and through other methods, awesome! That means you want to put in the effort to better yourself as a person - which is one of the green flags he mentioned later in the video. I'll finish by saying this: no one is perfect. No one is going to be every green flag that has ever existed. We are all flawed, we all have things that we can change or improve. The important thing is that you're high enough caliber, as he stated, for the other person to be able to benefit or improve from being in a relationship with you. Being in a relationship needs to be a net positive for both parties involved. That is the most important aspect - and I think the takeaway that most people would probably benefit the most from genuinely understanding.

It just says you don't have this one particular green flag, and that's all :) It doesn't barricade you from the thousands of other positive traits you could have, especially those you have true control over. Having "daddy issues" (groan) is not the red flag we've been led to believe. If you've managed to make a good life for yourself in spite of a crappy or absent parent, that's a big green flag in and of itself!

What do you mean with the term "high value woman"? On the face of it I really don't like it because it seems very judgmental or moralistic. I assume it consists basically of having certain traits that make for a healthy relationship as opposed to not having those traits or having less of them. But that doesn't make the women themselves any more or less valuable an sich. Could you clarify? Is it just a blanket statement that could also be phrased as "women who would actually make you happier in the long run"?

I absolutely agree with everything he said in this video. However, before you put a standard on someone else, you better have that standard for yourself first. You can’t be overweight and think you deserve someone who takes care of their health. You can’t be sleeping with multiple women and think you deserve someone with self respect and self control. It’s important you find a woman who doesn’t hate men for sure, and saying these things are important to you is 100% ok to say, but I heard this guy refer to women as chasing “pussy” 😕 which is a clear indication that he doesn’t value or respect women as people, but sees them as objects. Therefore, I would never date this guy, but I’m sure the response is “you hate men”… no, I don’t want a man who doesn’t value women, but that has nothing to do with men who actually do. And trust me, I had a man who I was drinking with stop going to far because he “didn’t want me to feel used” translated to “you are a person of value not an object”. I never forgot that guy. That was a good man, but obviously a lot of you boys wouldn’t be that strong or empathetic, so you don’t get to be on the same level as him. That was called emotional intelligence, he was self aware and able to control his impulses and see people as people.
