What blew my mind most about this was 2-fold -- he can crack his way through a seashell as effortlessly as a nutcracker opening up the shell of a walnut, and he's temporarily exposed to a temperature of 10,000 degrees F, which is the sun's surface temperature. It is much harder to move around in water (for a human at least!) but obviously these animals have evolved to live in the water. Anyway, apparently the mantis shrimp can slow its punch speed down when out of water. Clever things!

@@scpfoundation4609 you think speed only boil water? with enough speed it is possible to create fire by simply accelerating the oxygen particles in the air, of course it would dissipate a lot more faster too, but I'm pretty sure this thing can do a "hot" punch in the surface although his body would suffer as it is not adapted to use full power oit of water, inside water it helps absorbing the recoil and backlash from such a movement.

Its super cool. We have something like 8 receptors in our retina and brain for us to see color. These guys have like 16 receptors I believe. They could maybe see hundreds of millions of different types of colors than us that we cant even imagine.
