I live in Jamaica and not that long ago (well to me not that long ago) it didnt matter if you planned to buy a auto or not..you had to take your test in a manual...i.e..every single driver on the road knew how to drive a manual..now we have lost the art of car control with so many people just planting their foot on the gas and jamming the brake,infact I remember how hard it was to sell a car if it was auto..nobody wanted it..boy things have really changed.

Unfortunately manuals are just about dead. They are slower, make emissions harder to pass, and less and less people buy and learn on them. And manual swaps are way too expensive. My last car will be a manual wrx hopefully because thats almost all thats left

@@MrEvilTag only because they refuse to put a tiny bit of r an d in. REAL street performance uses boost by gear and a strain gauge to shift thier manual cars. Including the 7 second Honda they have. Strain reads the pressure applied to the shifter and sends signal to box sends signal to ecm to adjust timing momentarily for a clutch less shift perfectly meshing. There is more to it but that's the basis.

Looked at a gt500, cant afford it. But I'll say this, the death of a manual is a death of passion. And a death of simplicity. Porsche kept a manual in a 911 GT3 for drivers. It too is a car I cant afford.

@@guyderagisch4964 Mechanically a manual is simpler, but driving wise it isn't for most people. The Porsche GT3 is also an all out street legal track car too. The GT500 was meant to be an all-around performer. At the GT500s power level, a manual transmission is a detriment to performance and safety for consumers. The C7 ZR1 is the only car I can think of that still offers a manual at that power level, and I'm sure that will get replaced with a DCT once the higher trim level C8 Corvettes come out.

To answer the question, Ford claimed they couldn't find a manual transmission they were willing put a warranty on with the GT500's power, and it's more for track anyway so if you want fun, get the GT350

I know I am late. But the Dodge Hellcat was named after the Grumman F6F Hellcat. Similarly to how the Ford Mustang was originally named after the North American P-51 Mustang. I'd really like to see someone make an F6F Hellcat inspired paint job, exterior looks, and performance boost to a Dodge Hellcat. While the aircraft does not have the same amount of instant recognition as the P-51, I still think that would be really cool. Do it for SEMA.
