I’m SO excited likes and dislikes work with Stories now. I know that’s not a popular feature, but I’ve always loved it and was really frustrated with that oversight.

I played yesterday right after updating and I must say that the game was remarkably stable, no stuttering. I also saw the previously un-categorized Lovestruck items such as canopies. Seems like a very good update.

There’s a bug where using the off-the-grid lot challenge causes loading issues. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.

Oh, throwing in I’m PUMPED for the stove hood swatch updates. I use them a lot (they really make a kitchen look like a kitchen) and they were soooo limited!

Hi! I was one of "the two people that are still listening" towards the end there. (I'm sure it was more than two, let's be real 😂). My goodness, as a builder, that does make me happy to see the additional colors on that sofa especially. The ones on the cupcake machine though... they're fine. I'm not going to complain about free updates ever or about free new swatches. Though in the case of the cupcake machine, I kind of wonder if another base game asset could've used more colors more so than the cupcake machine, especially since now we can make cupcakes without the cupcake machine. That's my only concern with that specific update. Everything else looks great for the swatch additions. For the bug fixes, I'm always happy to see them follow through on something they said was going to happen. I hope they continue to follow through on the number of bug fixes they say are coming to the extent that they can.

ha I appreciate you. Just felt like I was rambling after a while. Had lots of interruptions too because I was dog sitting yeah... not sure why the chose the cupcake machine? Can't see many using that anymore on a regular basis . no harm done of course

It is great that they are making fixes, even if we shouldn't have to praise them for doing it. More swatches is always great but it always makes me miss the color wheel and create-a-style, there were many ugly items that looked great with a few fixes, remember the sofa from Disel.

I havn´t played yet. but this explaines why the update was huge. So I don´t have to look for homeworks all over the lot anymore. that was one bug that I have experiensed a lot.

Still cranky from all the Sims news of yesterday, but glad to see so many bug fixes (haven't updated yet, so I hope they work without creating more issues; but I do appreciate them trying to fix this stuff). The recolors don't appear to be for any of the objects I ever use (when building, I mostly recreate old house plans from the 18th, 19th, and early 20th century, so modern furniture just never makes it in), but it is good for those who do use them. As for the log-in event, I . . . actually I do like most of the stuff in it, so I may actually pay attention to this one! Thank you for keeping us posted on all that's happening in life sims! :)

I was so happy to see the rewards were going to be on my account. I still wish I had a way to replace the Happy At Home that were lost when my laptop hard drive died the big death. I really like all the extra base game swatches. Many of them are ones builders have wanted for a very long time. I also like the new doors and door arches. I find it hilarious they have made sure to have pink swatches, yet we have very few lavender/purple swatches. (Of course, purple is my favorite color, so I really notice it. But builders often mention it when they're doing something like the Berry Challenge. As you know, I always watch your videos until the end (even when the update list is *really* long. Hopefully, people are not complaining that there are a lot of fixes!)

Look up serinion studios happy at home event items. It tells you what code to stick in your user file to restore any lost happy at home event items.

@@junerussell6972 google search for the happy at home code string, there’s a code string you can add to your user.ini file that will reveal them (they are in every game, just hidden by code that marks them unlocked). Its not really a cheat since you did unlock them, just lost them. I wish they would just make them standard base game tbh.

@@SimmerErin It will be interesting to see what they put into future updates. It could be that their "every 2 months" updates will all be this big. Hopefully, they won't do updates more often however. I feel so sorry for the modders. They have a big job to fix all those mods. I find it amazing that people like Twisted Mexi, Turbodriver, and Weerbesu have *already* updated their mods! (Although I'm not sure that Deaderpool's MCCC really is as "cleared" as they say it is. I'm still waiting to see if there are any changes.)

My game was crashing constantly after the update whenever my sim traveled. I switched to laptop mode just to see if that helped (even tho I am not on a laptop) and it seemed to resolve the issue for now.

@@SimmerErin I am gonna try this evening and see if it repeats. I had mods off, but didn’t take them out. I did have reshade on, but when I completely uninstalled reshade (I only indulged a week ago in playing with it) it was still crashing on travel. I haven’t seen anyone else having this problem but since I do Mod my game and started playing with reshade I don’t want to go yelling at Maxis with Pitchforks yet. 😅😂

The only thing that interests me at all here are the bug updates, but I have seen so many people with no mods installed complain about issues, so I'll just stick with what I have until it's time to play Paralives, lol!

I think I remember seeing a huge color swatch update some time ago. So this is the 2nd batch? More options are always good anyways. Event rewards are back, expected but meh.

They're certainly make you work for it this week. This update does sound promising but let's see how it actually does. I'm kinda suprised recolours and matching swatches haven't been part of more updates since launch. It's one of the easiest things to accomplish and they could have solved so many of the mismatched items problems.

Suddenly there is so much that makes sense about why my game was beyond frustrating the last time I tried to play. The routing errors are still so beyond impossible that it makes me want to scream. Having a baby is just like: “JEEZE both of you fighting over who is taking care of the baby and neither of you actually *taking care of the baby* is insane!!!” Ohhhhhh so that is what happened to their wedding! I tried twice and both of their weddings were hot messes so I just had them elope. 🤣

I don't think DirectX is used by PlayStation because PlayStation isn't Windows-based even though the PS4 and PS5 _do_ use AMD hardware based on the x64 architecture. Xbox One/Series using DirectX would make sense as these consoles likely use the core based on Windows (Xbox and Windows are both from Microsoft).

@@SimmerErin macOS doesn't use DirectX as DX11 is specific to Windows. macOS' equivalent would be the Metal API while older versions prior to Metal used OpenGL. Linux also uses OpenGL but can also use Vulkan.

There wouldn’t be so many bugs if they test out there game and also stop having so many packs, which is causing so many system conflict

well, they do test, but the problem comes is that you have to test for every combination- and we have tons of dlc. Further, there are a lot of old bugs on top of new ones, so the problem becomes increasingly interesting shall we say ah, you sorta agree with me. I think what would help most is to take s break from new expansions and launch a few major patches like this

@@SimmerErin I think also tht would probably help is also maybe considering putting certain dlc in the base game and/or combining dlc. Speaking of tht if they ever do decide to do tht, wht dlc would you like to be in the base game and/or what dlcs would you combined. Mine would be I think: get to work, get together, dine together, my wedding stories, growing together love struck season high school years. For me should be in the game cause it has to do with life sim. And for what dlc need to be combined I think all animal dlcs need to be combined, the same thing with supernatural stuff it doesn’t make sense to have them separate, combine city living with get famous maybe you can put eco lifestyle since it has the politician job, then combine all retreat, recreational and etc into one

@@Caelumization I give it at most a year of having them be an annual thing to get players used to them then they'll probably start charging like 20 bucks per "season" like Halo Infinite multiplayer orrrrrrr they'll make the pass as grindy as possible and sell progression points like Fortnite or they'll do both.

I don't see a patch note regarding error code 0 when trying to save, and from what I'm seeing in the comments, people are STILL having problems with the game. Two massive red flags.

try this "System Settings > Privacy & Security > Files & Folders make sure the game has access to your Documents folder. If you have any antivirus or blocking software running make sure it is not interfering with the game needing access to the Sims 4 folder." Source: help forums

Wow, a lot of recolors. Welp, i thiught it was a day event. I honestly think this is fair vs the Jasmine holiday event. 5 minutes tops to log in for a few days a week. Yhiugh i do also like the events that require us to do things in gamr. Oh thought bubbles through floors and walls. I heard they're getting rid of the thiught bubnles. Had me thinking why? Again, all the bugs i didn't know wree happening and i think how? It's interesting but i know there's annoying bugs.

I think they def have improved these events based on feedback. more time, and the rewards are getting better too It is kinda interesting, always a combination of reasons I'm sure why they occur and diff packs interacting with each other

I don't care about recolors. It's lame and easy update. No one said they will match. Have they fixed gardening bug with random reseting of plants to mud?

Gardening: that one they have purportedly fixed several times in the past and it's popped right back up. Like bad weeds you don't get to the root to. I'm pretty tired, but I don't recall seeing a fix for it here. I wouldn't say lame: lots of people can't and don't use cc, and it's a free update.

Did the game switch you from directx 9 to directx 11? If so, you will have to uninstall gshade and reinstall gshade for directx11.

saw this in a past help forum: "ometimes the change to reenable them doesn't stick. In that case, the fix is to delete options.ini (in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4) and let the game generate a new one. You'll need to redo all your in-game settings, but hopefully the mod setting will stick this time around. If mods are enabled but not showing up, your particular mods might be outdated and incompatible with the current patch. In that case, check with the creators to see whether there are updated versions, and replace whatever you can.
