Put 6000 miles on a Mitas 90/90 Dakar on my T7, Hands down best off road tire I have ever used. Like you said Kyle the off set side knob is key. But on the street it loves to track rain grooves and tar snakes and I never feel comfortable pushing it in the twisties. The best street adventure tire hands down is the Dunlop Rally Raid, Handles like a sport bike tire but off road is very nerving as it wants to push and is not even in the same ball park as the Mitas. As like many thing in the adventure world its all a compromise so plan accordingly on your next ride.

I had the hardest time getting along with the 90/90-21 on my 1090 in Colorado this summer and now back home in Georgia. Something about the tread pattern wanted to keep washing out offroad and on the street I felt every single imperfection in the pavement. I ran psi from 25-33. It’s still on my bike because it’s lasted quite awhile but now that it’s starting to scallop, I’m ready to try something else. Just my experience with it.

@@manybikes 500 EXC-F kind of a Lt WT ADV bike for weekend trips, Smokey MTN 500, Chattahoochee BDR, Mid Atlantic BDR but also find it more fun to ride the twistys than my 790 Duke. Our terrain and wet conditions are far from what you ride. I don't really look for a high mileage tire since I don't travel hours on the highway. The TKC80 stick great in all but greasy red clay. I used a Anakee wild rear with a TKC80 front. Anakee rear works better than TKC 80 for our conditions. Now I'm interested in trying The Mitas Trail Rally Pro front you recomended. Thanks Kyle! How do you think this tire would do in the mud on an adventure bike? I’ve been running a Dual Venture in the front of my 890, and after riding in mud I’m thinking of going to the Rallz for better front tire traction.

Great video Kyle, stay on the problem of tires being too small to absorb all the shocks of the big heavy bikes. I've done videos about that years ago, and you have 2, don't you think? Adventure bikes need tires, light the front of a bobber?
@manybikes
@manybikes Ай бұрын
Yes! ADV bikes that weigh 500+ lbs need some cushion between them and the objects they will be slammed into. That is for sure! I'd love to see a 100/100-21 or a 110/90-21 .... Mad traction, but they probably would turn in like a truck on the highway. Always looking for something different and better. Thanks for watching!

Cool Kyle. I have the regular XT+ front on my 690 and it's perfect for that bike. On my 890 I used to run both rallz but while they are excellent off road I ride that bike more on the street and got tired of the bad road manners so put trailmax raids on. That solved the road manners issue very well but I'm concerned about that front washing out off road. Would this fatty have near the same road manners as the raid or if not can you recommend something that would while still having a decent speed rating?
