I travel a lot and always take my Baretta with me; I bang it around in it's soft case, it falls over from time-to-time with my compact travel stand....and yet, it still stays in-tune and is as good as the day I purchased it. Not only do they sound amazing, but they look good too!

One story i read was that a guy bought one of these for $150 on sale to just be a guitar that he would learn to do fret work and other repairs but after he got it and set it up and played it it became his favorite! With these Kramer baretta's in 2022 you can now get a amazing guitar for under $200! that was not the case a few years back!

Been thinking about getting one of these and your videos helped a lot. THANKS! My first real guitar when I was around 14 (mid 80's) was a red Charvel with a single humbucker and maple neck and I still miss that guitar. Don't really want to spend the money on a Charvel like that nowadays, and that red Kramer looks very similar and they seem to sound great from the videos I've watched.

I'm going to get on of these great guitars , it'll look so cool with a gr55 pickup on it playing classical guitar 😀👍. I have bad arthritis so light guitars are the order of the day and usually use Jackson minions which are fantastic

If anyone is on the fence about getting this, just go for it. This was my second guitar and since I'm a student who can't afford much I would save up money to get upgrades. Having upgraded this alongside my squier, i have to say this guitar is the perfect mod platform. I've tried some expensive guitars in shops and i do plan on getting player series strat but the neck on this guitar is incredible. The only downside was the poor setup and tuning stability. If you get a new nut and properly cut it so that it works with the hockeystick headstock, it becomes a completely different instrument even with the stock hardware. The pickup sounds amazing and I also added a dimarzio CTS pot and this guitar cleans up like a dream. Defo my favourite guitar to just pickup and play anytime. I'd actually get another one of these over the top of the line models because I don't like FR systems and I'd change the pickup regardless. Even with the stock hardware the guitar resonates and a lot which is amazing to me because I tried a used LP and ibanez grg and those guitars felt dead in comparison.

Thanks! They’re both cool for that vibe…the blue is a metallic blue so it looks a little bit nicer than the non-metallic purple IMO.

i left the cap in mine because it works perfect not sure why others are having problems with it other then maybe a bad batch of bad pots mine is also a 2021 but not sure that matters
@EJBGuitar2 жыл бұрын
Those stock pots and caps are pretty cheap feeling and operating IMO, so the first thing I do is swap them out. Even if they sounded ok, I’m not a fan of the way they feel. A great pot is only a few bucks so IMO it’s worth it. I just set up a new one for a buddy of mine and did the same mods to his that I did on mine…his is brand new and the cap had the volume cut issue that both of mine did. But if yours is working ok for you, that’s all that matters!

what locking tuners did you get? I have the candy blue that I use for travel. my tuners have a hard time staying in tune and never even put the whammy bar on lol
@EJBGuitar Жыл бұрын
I just put Hipshot locking tuners on mine…but I also replaced the nut with a Graphtech nut. If you’re having tuning issues definitely think about a nut replacement or at least checking the string slots on the stock nut. The wide string fan on these due to the headstock shape can cause issues if the nut isn’t slotted really well. If you keep the stock nut think about using some kind of lubricant in the slots too like graphite or nut sauce, etc.

Nice to see you are a KISS fan too. Peter is from my old neighborhood in Brooklyn. He was visiting his father in 96, my younger brother and I got to sit in his green limo. Ziggy Stardust 8track in the player. The chauffeur showed us the comic book before it was out. Then, Peter came out, no makeup, awesome guy. We followed him as fast as we could keep up on our bikes. He stood out of sunroof with a can of Rheingold, cheering us on. His brother Joe and my older brother John were friends. Proud to say Peter grew up around the corner from my family. Miss the good old days!

It would be even more 80s if you dive-bombed some squealies from time to time, and I'd be very curious how well the non-locking trem performed on that
@EJBGuitar3 жыл бұрын
Like I said in the video, I don’t use these kind of tremolos…I leave them against the body like a hard tail. If you dive bomb this trem, it’s going out of tune.
@TVoltG2 жыл бұрын
I have set mine to floating and cleaned the nut, added some lubrication to the nut. I can dive and pull up and stays in tune. I will say that I have a PRS Style bridge coming today to replace the bridge because I wanted a brass block setup. But the stock one with a little setup works good.

Can you compare this to the EVH 5150?
@EJBGuitar3 жыл бұрын
The EVH (to me) sounds better...the Wolfgang pickups in the 5150 are killer. If you're going by stock to stock...the EVH has better hardware, especially the tuners. I don't see much difference in the finish to be honest...both are finished nicely. If you don't need the EVH's locking tremolo, putting a nice set of tuners on the Kramer will give you a great guitar for pretty cheap! The Kramer's stock pickup (if you either snip off the treble bleed cap on the volume pot or just replace the volume pot completely) sounds darn good for being a "stock" humbucker.
